Why is it so hard to buy a Titan?

Started research back in Oct/Nov. This forum and its information has been invaluable. Tried though Nissan USA to get some dealer quotes from about a half dozen local dealers and only one responded with a quote--all responded on the other hand with plenty of auto-responder SPAM garbage. They're perfect that way.

Fast-fwd to January and I am ready to buy, now, today. 2007 KC 4x4 SE fully loaded basically. Can't get a dealer to bite. Both me *and* my bank are calling around the area looking for quotes. Can't get a response.

Talked [actual] to the one guy who sent a quote back in Nov. Said he would get back to me right away. He had to look up my info. Days later nothing. Now doesn't return calls.

WHAT IS GOING ON? (apologize for shouting)

Maybe it's me. I have a specific description of what I want. Color and everything. If its not in stock it can be ordered. I'll wait. I tell them I'll wait. I'm not stipulating price, though I know what the price should be.

2007 KC 4x4 SE Granite Graphite/Titanium RF OR BT SAB UT

Shorthand is for the forum. I spelled it out of course for the dealer(s).

Why is this hard? What am I doing wrong?

My Titan was very hard to get. So was the one just like it that my buddy bought.

Re: Why is it so hard to buy a Titan?

One of those people should be able to search the loading docks for the truck. You did build it at NissanUSA web site to be sure it can be built didn't you?
Edmunds.com can get you the correct pricing on the truck. Are you trying to drive too hard a deal?

Re: Why is it so hard to buy a Titan?

Where are you located? I got mine for $166 UNDER invoice($3,367 below MSRP) back in end of June plus $2,750 rebate. 06 KC, 4X4, BT, Utili-track Ext, etc. I deal with the same dealer in Glen Burnie MD and have purchased 3 other vehicles from them in the past 5 years. They have enormous inventory of Titans in their storage lot.

Re: Why is it so hard to buy a Titan?

Shouldn't be that hard. I went in person to one dealer, talked to the kid and told him I'm ready to buy. Call me tomorrow morning about ______. Never got a call next day. Same day I should have gotten a call, I request an internet quote from that same dealer and two others. Heard from the other two, but not from that one. Strangest thing in the world to me. Go put yourself in front of the sales manager.

Re: Why is it so hard to buy a Titan?

I bought mine the same day I test drove it, and a few other trucks. They were wheelin' and dealin' got what I wanted cheap. Maybe they don't want to order you a truck.

I hope not, because that'd not my intent. Not stipulating price, just the truck.

It might be like AD says. Hard to find. There was only one in the state of Texas like I wanted. What are you looking for?

Re: Why is it so hard to buy a Titan?

When I got mine, there were only 2 like it in the whole state of California, even after looking and watching for over a month. When it showed up on a dealer locate, the other dealer wouldn't trade, so I went over there and got it myself. Even struck a better deal. I'm glad I held out for exactly what I wanted and didn't settle for something else.
