Re: help asp needed

if they are like most cars, pretty easy to fix. you use a punch and hammer and pound out the old studs. The you have to put the new ones in. i don't know if the our wheels need a press to get them in or not. sounds like they are charging you for about 3.5 hours or more of labor. it shouldn't take them that long.

Re: help asp needed

did this same thing on my old Maxima. Just as the previous poster said, the exisitig threaded post can be hammered thru the assembly. generally the new post will seat itself when reinstalling the tire.

Re: help asp needed

As stated above if there is room behind the disc,(can you see the back of the stud?) just take a punch and drive it out. For the install I've put the stud in and put a few heavy washers (to pull against) then the lug and tighten it up and check to see thast the head is seated against the hub. I did this on a car years ago and was aprehensive then realized how easy it was. Good luck.

Re: help asp needed

Yep, as the others have said just drive the broken stud out the other side. If it is already broken it should just fall out the back. If the broken stud is still too long you will have to saw or grind it off.

Re: help asp needed

What vehicle are you referring to? The Titan has 6 lugs which leaves you with four to VERY slowly and carefully go buy the parts. Better yet, can you get a ride and not even drive it?

Re: help asp needed

Been there, done that, (6 lug Blazer 2 on one tire 1 on the other) drove it to the parts store and back. Had to remove the hubs to get them out. Never wanted to rotate the tires again but I hate waiting for it to be done by someone else.
I was mad and yes it did raise the level of stupidity through the roof. I did drive alot more carefully that I usually do though. (avoided the pot holes and did the speed limit = 35) Also, in my defense the part store is less than a mile away.

Re: help asp needed

$350 I paid $20 for a tire store to do it(2) while they rotated/balanced and aligned the front end. I think the total for everything came to $60.

Re: help asp needed

You shouldn't really need air tools. You just have to brake the bolts loose. Unless you mean the bolts have a TORX or ALLEN head.
