Adding LED blinkers to Big Tow mirrors . . .

Adding LED blinker to side view mirrors.

Okay, so obviously the dissatisfaction of the mirrors on the Big-Tow package has gotten to me . . . I’m in serious question of whomever made the decision at Nissan to NOT add the blinker to the big tow mirrors. . .REDICOULOUS!!! So, I’ve been doing a little research to find out how I can add a blinker to the side view mirrors. What do you think about this idea (which may have already been discussed, but I could find no thread):

I want to add a little LED light bar on the bottom side of the side view mirrors and wire them into the trucks existing blinkers. Easy enough, right? So my question is where would I get such an amber LED light bar that I could attach?

Any ideas?

I've actually pondered this idea myself... Only problem was tracking down parts. I couldnt find a LED light bar small enough and slim enough that it would look good and smooth with the mirror contour. Otherwise it would look like a huge reflector on the bottom of the mirror.

The big tow mirrors do not have the directional lights in the mirror. The standard mirrors do have directional lights with the LE and maybe another trim level.

Yeah, the flexible ones may work, the only problem I see is that the wire comes out the side, and not the bottom of the light. See, I want to drill the light into the bottom of the mirror and route the wires through a hole that would be hidden by the new LED light bar. . .make sense?

I've said this from the beginning! Nissan added blinkers on the regular, non-tow mirrirs!...where their not needed! I've seen ads in the back of some of the car mags where you can add the blinking LED arrow on any mirror. Might wanna check there.

Yeah, I thought about that idea too, but if you actually add a whole LED light bar on the bottom of the mirror, you could see the blinker from ANY direction, not just form the rear of the truck.

I also want to do this, but I don't want it to look out of place.

I'm tired of started to change lines on the highway, and then someone else in the other lane starts changing into the lane that I'm going into!

I think the profile is too tall on those. Maybe I'll try it. I'll go to the local cycle shop and see if they stock these fleible led strips. Do you think the blinker wire is in the connector for the LE with tow mirrors? So they could be used with the mirrors that do factory include it?

Good question. I'm thinking that there is no difference in the wire harnesses:

The only problem is that if you wanted to use them as a running light as well (which I think would be SWEEET), you would have to run a wire up to the mirror form somewhere underneath the dash. . .
