dang it. a week or so ago i noticed a nice long vertical scratch on the passenger side window. of course, its tinted and i can feel the scratch from the inside. tho i really dont notice it much, i hate the fact it did happen.
i hope it doesnt happen to the drivers side. i know that from reading similar posts here, peeps have had probs with that. i guess if it happens again ill need to replace that inner strip w the "brush" strip.
im kinda surprised tho that it took over 4 months to happen....

How do you think that happened?
The tint is pretty strong stuff so you have me wondering...

Maybe there was some sort of debris caught in there. I'm on my 27th vehicle and never needed to replace one of the "brush" strips. Something else caused this.

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.
thats the prob w some of the Titans. from what ive learned is that most of them dont have the brush thingies in the door/window frames.
most have the plastic ones, and i guess its easier for a lil speck of dirt to lodge in there and scartch the tint.
its happened to alot of tinted windows here in the forum....
to knonos.........
yeah the tint is strong, but not if a speck of hard dirt or something similar gets lodged inbetween(sp?) the tint and the rubber lining in the window.
My driver side has many vert scratches. Happened i think after drivin on the river! So if i replace the tint will it happen again? and where do i find those brush replacements?

I had mine tinted and the guy who tinted them new about the problem and put some strips of velvet or something in the top of the door panel. Most tinting places should be aware of the issue. If there not you gotta bring it up.

Yeah, it depends on where you live...in the desert/sandy areas it will usually happen sooner.
This happens because the window presses up against a hard rubber liner vs softer felt found on most vehicles. You can fix this with a little DIY inclination and some felt strips...

Im taking it you aren't warrantied because you posted this?
If you are just take it back to the shop and have them replace it, it's their job to know about the strip. Just pay the $15 for the velvet strip and have em replace the tint.
