If I have two sets of rims/tires, both with tire pressure sensors installed, do I have to get the dealer to reprogram them every time I switch tires?
Also, I understand that if you remove the tire sensors and put them on new wheels, you have to put them back in the same location they were on the vehicle or else they won't work properly. So how do they work when you rotate the tires? Nissan reprogram again?
Yes... the BCM only has slots for 4 TP sensor numbers..
When tire rotation is done - most dealers do not re-adapt sensor location, that would be a added charge - if not readapted after rotation the problems would be :
1. Navi if equiped would say - left front is low but its really left rear..
2. NON navi equiped - have a noise (tone) that peeps to tell you which one is low but again its just in the right spot.

I have two sets of tires & wheels that I switch out for summer and winter driving both sets have the sensors installed. I have never had to have them re-programed. I just switch them out and go with no problems.
Also, there is no need to put the tires back in the same location, whoever told you that was misinformed.

Sounds good, I was hoping it would work that way but other threads I've seen on here say otherwise. Anyway, I got the new ones on today so hopefully the light doesn't come on.
Tnbowhunter has the plan. The manual states that the NAV optioned Titans will display the pressures and the warning lights but the pressures are randomly displayed and don't necessarily corresond to any specific order or sequence. It is meant to be a warning (thanks to the Furd Exploder) that there is something you need to address, but it will not pinpoint which tire is low. They want you to check ALL of your tires for safety reasons.
Go ahead and change your tires. You won't have any trouble with your sensors. There is no order too the way they read. I rotate my tires with no problems. I have Nav in my truck and the manual states that there is no order too the sensor reading.

Let us know how it goes. As I said earlier I change mine out and rotate them without a problem. My truck dosen't have Nav on it so there may be a difference.

Yeah I don't have nav either. I have the new tires on and no problems yet but the guy I got them from said that after he drove 30 mins the light would come on. He said it was because he didn't get them put back in the same locations. Obviously that doesn't matter, so maybe one of them is messed up or something. I'll let you know when I've drove more than 30 mins if the light comes on.
I have two sets of rims/tires; both with tire pressure sensors installed. The second set of rims I obtained I put snow tires on, after driving about 50 miles with them the light came on and has been on ever since. When I put my original rims/tires back on in the spring it will be interesting to see if the light goes out. I've always assumed the light came on because each TPS need to be configured to your vehicle and I never had them configured. Maybe there is just something wrong with one of the TPS from the second set.
