Re: what do you guys think

Is it chromed? It might be tough to get paint to stick to that very well if so. It would probably look pretty good, but if it started to flake? Not so much.

Re: what do you guys think

Why not get it powdercoated? Or just get one already coated black, like I did?

Re: what do you guys think

I think you CAN paint it, but it's been my personal experience that the paint won't stick well, and it very prone to scratching easily.

Re: what do you guys think

Chroming is an electrolytic process. Unless you plan to spend a ton of time sanding and scuffing the hardened surface, you'd best either live with the chrome, get a new one that's already black, or buy some Cheetos, sit in your beanbag chair and watch TV. You can get the chrome stripped, but that's costly, too.

Re: what do you guys think

try hittin it with like an anodized finish .. you can still see the shine of chrome .. but, like if you got it anodized black .. it'd look kind of smokey .. black and chrom e at the same time .. autozone or pepboyz can get you hooked up w/ a can spray in duplicolor .. but, try to see if there's a local paint shop that does anodizing ..
