Hudson, I think you'd be surprised how many people won't buy the Ford Explorer/Mountaineer unless it has the V8. If you look at the volume numbers for 2005 (2006 hasn't been published yet) there were more than 90,000 Pathfinders sold. Of that market for 3-Row SUVs, you could say that maybe percentage would rather have a V8 for some sort of towing that exceeds the capacity of the VQ, even if it was as low as 10% they exist.

The V8 is a small percentage of the midsize truck/SUV market. I mean, sure...there are going to be a tiny amount that would like a V8 in a VW Beetle too. Just not something that should be done when there are so many other things needed in the line up. I'm sure there's a dolt out there wanting a plaid painted SUV or a fully chromed pick up...but they don't exist either. My point was that Nissan needs to listen to their customers and fix the things that'll help keep them as customers and keep their vehicles in the forefront. Adding a V8 to the Pathy or the Fronty, although cool, is wasted on, by your own numbers, 90% of SUV buyers.
