So my day started out at 7am this morning doing various chores, The titan starts up as it normally does. It does this several times during the morning no problems starting. Later in the afternoon I went to start up and nothing. Drew a blank, it wouldnt even turnover, just a bunch of clicking sounds. I immediately figured it was the battery so I called a friend to try to get a jump. After trying several times to jump my truck, nothing happened. So I called AAA, they came out and they tried to jump my truck and they too were unsuccessful. Finally I had run to Sears to purchase a new battery, which by the way they only have one kind avaiable for our trucks for $113. So I finally got the battery in after about 3 hours of trying to jump the truck. So has anyone encounter this problem yet? and does anyone know how long the factory battery is supposed to last? I've had my 04' for 2 and half years now. Also I did not leave any lights or any equuipment on while I left my truck>
I bought my 05' in November and the battery was dead in December. I think for mine the dealer had it on the lot for awhile, then it would go dead, they'd charge it, on so on.
I think the stock batteries just suck, so just replace when needed and fear not for the future!!!

My truck is 3 yrs old this month and my factory battery is still doing good...I hope i don`t jink myself by posting this...I do have the bigger battery...Good Luck
I would be worried if you bought a diehard battery. Had one in my chevy, it started fine when i left work drove about 70mi. [baton rouge to hammond] to buy some items, jumped in the truck and the battery was dead. Tried to jump start it with 3 different cars and 2 different sets of jumper cables, had to replace the battery to get home. I will never own another diehard battery again.
I am assuming you have an 04, going by your join date. I'd say you experienced a sudden loss of continuity in the battery, due to age/wear. Being a maintenance free battery, it could have been low on water for some time, and finally died completely. i've seen this many times (sudden failure).
A broken post (internal) can cause it (caused by vibration).
We recently had a pickup (not a Titan) that needed jumped a couple times, but last start sounded normal. Then it would not start again, so we cleaned terminals, and replaced cables ends. Turned key to start, and the battery exploded!
No water was evident from the explosion at all! Apparently a very dry battery that worked almost to the end. Amazing event. Reinforced need to check fluid level before charging and need to have safety glasses on when working around the battery (charging, etc.), though no one was hurt.
Average battery last 3 years, maybe 5. It is the suddeness of the failure that surprises us at times. But all seems well with your truck. Do get a free Alternator/Battery test done at the local parts store.
