Exclamation I just had to try the 4LO & E-LOCK

I took my truck late this afternoon to an area near me that you NEED 4X4 to get thru these rutted, washed out roads (well...one road but...one heluva road). I threw er' into 4LO and locked the E-LOCK up and LMAO....had a freakin' ball. This thing is F'n unstopable! And for those of you wondering....it'll easily do 45 MPH in 4LO with the azz end locked.
I went up grades that would have 2WDs stopped in their tracks. Even with a few inches of snow, I felt like I could have towed a house up that hill. The ABS light comes on to tell you its' been disabled. I was just amazed at how the truck felt while in 4LO and locked. Solid, no un-nerving noises. Just solid grunt and tons of traction. Tore a hunk outta that hill!

Sounds like a blast.

Where in the Hudson Valley? I grew up there - live in Tampa now.

Poughquag...town of Beekman. Near Pawling area. And yeah, it was a blast. Wasn't out there too long but I've had the truck for 2 years and up til now have only put it into 4LO and locked the rear end in the driveway to be sure it worked. Again, gives an amazing GO ANYWHERE feeling.

Sounds like you had a great time!!!!!!!!!

I've used it a lot near the Pa/NY border around Deposit/Vestal. Probably East/South of you. A lot of the dirt roads have been washed out and have closed signs on them. I just drove around the signs

I think you're north of where I was - Chester in Orange County (where the men are men and the sheep are nervous).

Anyway, used to do some slogging around in a company truck - they bought Isuzus...ALWAYS in the shop...
