I noticed a lot of Titan Members here running aftermarket rims that look really great. My question is do you all have those rims or other accessories insured/covered under your automotive insurance policy? The reason i ask is that lets say you get into an accident which is not your fault and your aftermarket rims gets damaged. Will the insurance company cover that replacement even though it was not covered in the policy? Thanks in advance.

State Farm will cover it but you must keep your reciepts of your purchased rims.

If it's not your fault the other company must pay to replace them as their insured ruined them. The other guys insurance can't choose what they will cover. What if the other guy hit a Bentley would they say hey, it's to much to fix this brand? Only if his insurance limits are not high enough can you have issues. If you caused the accident then your carrier can choose what they will do. Usually it's stated on your application what is excluded if you don't choose to list on it.

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.
I had a 99 ZR2 with some chrome rims on it. I crashed the truck avoiding a deer about a month and a half after installing the rims. Two of them were very scratched up. Showed them receipts and there was not a problem. I keep receipts for everything. That was with Erie Insurance (which for you western Pa folks, is owned by the Peterson's, the same one's for which the Peterson Events Center at PITT is named for) Just some random trivia I thought I'd throw in there.
I have Wawanesa out her in So Cal and have about 14k in special equipment for about $180 a year on top of my reg. premium... I think its money wels spent

i used to live in So Cal for 16 years and never heard of Wawanesa!???!
Carriers are looking to minimize costs and fraud, period. If you "say" you have the parts (rims, stereo, etc) and have no proof, you are probably SOL.
State Farm has been good to me. Had my stereo stolen, but had my receipts, so no problem. An insurance carrier only has to replace what is factory with your basic coverage, so ask your agent or contact at the carrier, and find out what's covered.
