Big noise from the back wheel when it skids on ice road! Help
Hey guys, I heard today, a few times, the big noise coming from the back of the truck ( the back wheels I guess) whenever the back tires lost traction on ice road! In fact, I done a few times just to check and everytime it sound like pretty bad... Is it normal?? Since it is my first truck, I am not sure if this is common, but I sure never heard this before in cars.

I was extremely impressed with the ABLS, I purposely put it on ice and walked it away every time.
I tried to move a GM Pickup with an open rear, and it spun like crazy on the smallest piece of ice. I thought somebody had chocked it and got out to look. Couldn't believe it was so hard to get moving, since most of the ice had melted by then.

Can someone tell me more about ABLS!?
Is it similar to the anti-lock brakes on cars? Why does it make such a ugly loud noise? I am sure I got some heads turned when that happened to me by the gas station. Thanks for the info! David |

"4-Wheel Limited Slip (ABLS) In most situations, a spinning wheel is a bad thing. Which is why Nissan offers 4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS)*. The system senses a drive wheel(s) spinning, then automatically applies the brakes to the slipping wheel(s), directing power to the drive wheel(s) with the best traction." |

Thanks for the answer guys! Now I understand, but doesn't mean that I like it. Why does it have to be so darn loud!? Scare the baloni out of me, sounds like something is broken down there.
