If you have vdc you can turn it off with the switch, if you don't have vdc you don't have traction control. It is on the dash, either on the left by the pedal adjustment, or the right by the tow mode switch.
I think you are talking about VDC, which on a Titan is pretty much the same...If you have it, there should be a switch below the radio right beside the tow/haul mode switch.....
I do know I have traction control though. I just can't find out how to turn it (on and off) whenever I want to. Whenever I spin the wheels, the B-LSD indicator light goes on and the wheels stop spinning.
Note that I have one of the earlier Titans. My truck was made in December 2003.
There must be some other way to turn it off.
Maybe in the fuse box? I don't know. That was just a wild guess.
No what you have is the abls limited slip. The light is just telling you that the abls is active. There is no way to turn it off.
So I guess doing burnouts isn't a safe thing to do in this truck then? lol
I can't seem to do them without the wheels locking up. lol
Although I did see one of the car reviewers on the (ESPN Auto Show) show, do a HUGE burnout at the end of the review he did and I always wondered how he did that.

The wheels shouldn't lockup, whatever wheel spins the brakes should grab that wheel to make the power go to the other wheel. The brake should only slow the wheel down to the same speed as the other wheel.

Maybe it isn't locking up. But I do feel a huge quick shake and a thumping noise whenever I try to spin the back wheels.
I'm probably pressing on the accelerator too hard or something. It's very difficult for me to keep the back wheels spinning continuously for more than 3,4 or 5 seconds. You have a nice truck btw.

Thanks. 3 - 5 seconds is a pretty long time for a truck to spin the tires. Mine will usually swap sides with the black marks, sometimes it will leave 2 black marks. In 3 seconds my truck is going fast enough that it won't be spinning by then.

Oh okay so your truck can pretty much do the same kinds of burnouts my truck can do.
What about those noises I mentioned? Do you get the thumping noise sometimes ? Do you feel a little bit of a jerk sometimes? Again, I'm sure these noises are a result of me pressing the accelerator too hard but I'm just wondering if this kind of thing happened to you as well.

I don't get any kind of noise when the tires are spinning, but my hearing isn't the greatest. I do hear the abs making terrible noise when it activates on slippery roads, but that is normal. Maybe you are hearing the abs working.

If the abs works on the back wheels (since those are the wheels I'm spinning) then thats probably what I'm hearing or feeling then.
Or its the abls which is also what you mentioned earlier.

The abls uses the abs to act as a limited slip differential (aka posi traction). Our trucks have an open differential, that means that the power from the engine will go to the tire with the least resistance, so the truck uses the brakes to slow the spinning wheel so that the other wheel is the one with the least resistance.
