Re: I actually got 423 miles on one tank - wow

I just got my new Titan on Saturday, managed 315 miles on 20.8 gallons, a little bit over 15 mpg. Almost all City driving, with the exception of the return trip home from the dealer. I think it will improve after its broken in, or maybe it won't since I haven't really driven it hard yet during the break-in period.

Re: I actually got 423 miles on one tank - wow

Using the Nissan on-board fuel calculator, which I find to be accurate, I average 10 to 14 mpg. I do live in a hilly area and it also depends on how aggressively I drive. When it’s strictly highway it’s a lot better. My best was coming back from Canada down interstate 81; I got the fuel calculator up to 19 as an average, I was driving a little less then 70. My truck is a 2005 CC 4x4 O/R with tow.

Overall I'm happy with the fuel mileage, my last truck was a Chevy 2500 HD, the best I ever got was 12.9 on the highway, around where I live I usually got 8 to 10.

Re: I actually got 423 miles on one tank - wow

do the SE and LE models really calculate your mileage for you?

BTW: my best observed fuel economy (corrected for tire size) is 17.42 and that's with leveling kit and 315 70-17 BFGs.

Huh? My LE calculates MPG? I guess I should RTFM.
BTW, I got 12 mpg my last fill up (just passed 1,000 miles). I'm shooting for 13....I don't expect it to get any better than that.

Re: I actually got 423 miles on one tank - wow

Man I havent driven my Titan in about 8 months now! It just gets to sit in my garage and I start it every week.
Now I also have an 04 tundra regular cab v6 5speed.
This poor thing goes through insane stop and go driving!
I do atleast 2000+ stops & gos every weekend!
With about 800lbs in the bed.
I get about 320 miles to every tank.
About every month a run a can of seafoam through a vaccum hose to clean things up. And another can in a full tank of gas.
Not bad eh?

the computer read 15.7, the calculation came out to 15.35. 369.6 miles on 24.082 gallons. Heavy LA freeway driving with hill driving around the home as the mix. 07 LE 4x4 OR with < 3,000 miles on it.

Computer reads that I get around 12 mpg going up and down the hills in the neighborhood and around 17 on the freeway.

How do you correct for tire size when computing MPG? I just went from 245/75/17 to 325/60/18 and of course my MPG has taken a HUGE hit. I'm just curious about how you correct for tire size and if maybe the way I'm calculating now (I divide the number of miles on my trip meter by how many gallons it takes to refill truck) needs to be adjusted somehow because of the new tire size?

Hmmm, I guess I didn't get the package on my LE with the mpg calculator. I cycled thru the odometer and the overhead temp/compass displays and didn't see anything related to mpg.

its all good we dont drive these trucks cause were worried about mpg we drive them cause there bad *** and mean... gas is a small price to pay to look so good... by the way my worste was 6.8-7.6 mpg pulling 3 quads from mesa arizona to the cinders in flagstaff... but i dont admit to not driving like an a-hole..

Re: I actually got 423 miles on one tank - wow

My best is around 350-360 when I drove to Vegas (All cruise control!! came out to be aobut 16mpg) I usually get about 300 to the tank driving around here in Phoenix.

It's weird though I filled up on premium the other day and I've driven 71 miles and I'm already below 3/4 a tank.. Is that odd considering I havn't driven ANY different? For that quarter tank I got 10mpg, does premium burn quicker?
