Kent, I just had mine fixed. It was a very similar problem to what you descibed. My 05 suffered from a loose transmission mount on the crossmember. I addressed a long time ago but as I approached 30k the 'pop' started. Southerlin in Ft Myers spent a ton of time and effort. They checked a bunch of stuff and the culprit was a loose motor mount. Due to normal road smeg they loosened, cleaned, sprayed and retorqued the motor mounts and it worked.
