Re: Off Roading
There are a number of roads in the San Bernardino Ntl. Forest that are easy enough for 2WD when it is dry weather. One I like is the Cleghorn trail right off the 15 freeway at Cleghorn exit. I've driven this one a couple of times in 2WD. It's very scenic with lots of high mountain views and a view of Silverwood Lake. Easy to find. You just take the 15N to Cleghorn exit and turn left. Simple as that.
There are a couple of good offroad books out there that show these Forest Service and BLM trails and rate them pretty accurately. There's another very scenic one up at Big Bear that is like 18 or 20 miles long that a 2wd can easily handle.
You might take a buddy with 4WD with you just in case you get stuck as an extra safety measure.
Regards,
John
