Bought my 07 SE CC today. Look at this deal.

I finally sucked it up and picked up my new titan today. I will share my buying experience. It may be a long read, so skip to the numbers if that what you want to see.

As I noted in another post, I sat out today to buy a leftover 06 SE. The dealer had a white one left that I liked but had a rusting ding on the bottom edge of the tailgate. On my previous visit he guaranteed me a similiar truck in the silver color (which I prefered) at their sister store in the houston area for the same price. So I call the houston store right before I go to the local dealer to see if the truck is still there. The sales guy says "yes." So I go in and ask to go get the silver truck and if there was ANYTHING wrong with it when it came in, the deal was off and I would fall back on the in stock white unit.
So, the manager checks and says the truck is not showing up on computer, it must be sold, and find something on his lot for a helluva deal. So, now my plan is shot and I go outside and call the houston store and the guy says "I'm looking at it through the window right now." Immediately, I smell a rat. Either the dealer is trying to go back on his truck guarantee, or the salesman in Houston is trying to get me to drive an hour and a half for a truck he knows is unavailable.
Anyway, I go look at the lot again. NO 07's in silver or white, the two choices I would go for. But I do see a smoke color that was equipped like the 06's that catches my eye. I was ready to do this and said if he can do the 07 for the 06 price, I am in...even though its not the color I liked...SO he comes back we haggle back and forth, and I end up getting the 07 SE for $400 more than the 06 model. I even scored a 4 piece billet grill they had put on the 06 models and sell for $495...I got that for free, they are gonna take it off a 06 truck and put it on mine. Now the numbers.

Sticker=$32,555
Vpp & discount bought it down to $27,351
Rebate got it down to $24,351
Trade allowance on 06 tundra CC texas edition was $21,350 (was offered as much as $23,000 at other dealers)
Payoff on tundra was $18,000

So, in the end after taxes and fees and trade equity I financed $17,500 @ 5.5% for 60 months and put $3,900 down to put my note at $330ish...
I was really surprised and happy...I did not have to take the year of depreciation ding on buying the 06 and still got a $32,500 truck for $24,350...The only bad thing that happened was when the finance guy told me he strongly suggested an extended warranty for this truck..lol....Not a great confidence booster.. I said " Are you trying to tell me something, or do you recommend warrantys on all cars you sell?" His reply was "some more than others"

Anyway its done and I hope I can get and share some ideas with you guys. Now, what will I do first??

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a helluva deal!!!! Good job!!!! What should you do first? With all that money you saved...you can put a supercharger in there first!

couldnt have said it better myself if you hate it that much time to get rid of it but most and i mean most of us dont have a problem.

I chose to buy a waranty because of how fast I was putting miles on the truck. Traditionally I drove my trucks only 8-10,000 miles per year and the 5/60 warranty would have been enough. The family likes being in my Titan so much I knew I'd be at a loss warranty wise so I bought the 5 year 100,000 (not at day of sale,2 months after) warranty. I was correct, at 22months old I had already hit 36,000 miles and bumper to bumper was over. At 24 months I'm at 40,000 miles so it put me at 20K per year and the warranty I bought would cover me through the rest of my loan. This is still the best pick up I've ever owned (#9) and haven't needed waranty work but with a house, kids and other obligations the warranty gives me peace of mind of not having repair bills along with truck payments.

No need for a wasteful extended warranty. If you're that worried, put the $1200-$1500 in the bank for future repairs....you're better off.
In any event, back to the original poster, CONGRATS on the new toy! You'll love it!...even if that means you'll be washing that smoke paintjob every other day...lol. Sounds like you got a good deal. You get the off road and tow packages with that?....I didn't see it listed. The tow package is a great selling point for resale.

A couple years ago I stated this was the kind've deals we would start seeing. This was when the Big three had the employee discount program. The rule of thumb has become to pay $8,000 or more LESS than what the sticker says. This example is exactly what I was talking about back then. Dealers are willing and able to do this exact sales scenario in any brand truck.

True! Bought my Titan a month ago and was able to knock off $7,000 off the sticker price!

This kind of deal can be found in any state. Just remember the golden rule of NEVER telling a car salesman how much you are willing to pay per month.

Telling someone to get a warranty is spreading hate? You guys need to find some SSRI's to pop.
