I know it's been talked about at length but I'm looking to replace my Rugged Trails and need some help. I'd like to get some feedback from both REVO owners and BFG KO owners. Pics of the ties on the truck would be extremely helpful as well since I tend to lean toward looks as well as functionality.
It's my understanding, from calling a few tire dealers around my area, that the REVOs are a "P" rated tire and the KOs are an "LT", 8 ply truck tire. I'm wondering how, if at all, that would effect me since I've been towing our TT fine using the Rugged Trails which are also a "P" rated tire. I'm trying to decide if the KOs are too "knobby" looking or if they are louder and rougher riding than what I'm used to. I appreciate any and all input and pics !!! Thanks in advance!
BTW, I was quoted $185 a tire for the Revos, and $245 a tire for the KOs. Both included mounting and balancing.

The BFG's should be better for towing. They have thick sidewalls and can run
with within a wide range of air pressure to fit your needs. You will give up a little ride ride quality though.
When I got rid of my Titan I had 12k miles on my BFG's and they had no noticeable wear, the Tire tits hadn't worn off yet.
I only paid $205 for mine mounted and balanced, they were black walls, maybe they are a little cheaper.

KO will be better for towing, but that of course is worse for non-towing applications. I've heard great things about the REVOS and given that I don't tow, would prefer the 'softer' tire and the less jarring ride. If I was towing a heavy TT, I would go with KOs seeing as how they are a 'true' truck tire.

I've had both over the past 4 years. I had KO's on a half-ton chevy and I have the Revo's on my Titan. The KO's are tougher, louder and rougher riding. The KO's are amazing civilized considering what they'll do, make no mistake, but they definately have an off-road slant. The Revo's continually amaze with how good they stick to the road and how well they ride. I am also amazed how well they work off-road considering how quiet and smooth they are on-road. If off-roading is very important I'd suggest the KO's but if you drive your truck everyday then definately the Revo's.
Another benefit of the Revo's that I enjoy is at 42psi (44max) I still get a very nice ride quality, an adequately stiff sidewall for towing and increased hydroplaning resistance (due to the higher pressure). The KO's on my chevy were Load range C (or D, I can't remember) so 50psi (60psi) max but they didn't ride so well above 37/38psi and the KO pattern isn't quite as good in a torrential downpour, IMHO.
Good luck and either way you win, they're both great!

KOs kick arse. Very good in snow. No comparison to Ragged Trails. Try Discount Tire (uses torque wrench instead of impact wrench) for pricing if they are in your area.
Not to take if off subject but how does the Nitto Terra Grappler rate with these 2? I have these and for some strange reason in snow I have trouble with traction. I keep telling myself it's just the torque of this BEAST that the tires can't handle. Now I'm thinking about getting KO's like what I first sought out for since my brother's Tundra has no trouble in snow with his KO's.

I use my truck on-road only. Some dirt roads at times but nothing I'd need a dedicated off-road tire for. I'm sort of leaning towards the Revos since they have the same load rating as the Rugged Trails and they tow our TT with ease. I was looking at both tires for comparison...thinking I should have a tougher tire. But now, I'm wondering whether I really need it. And I do like a smoother ride.

From what I have heard in the past, the REVO's would probably fit your needs better than the BFG KO's. I have had several sets of BFG A/T's on previous 4WD's and loved them. The only thing I didn't like about them was the short tread life. I just replaced my Rugged Trails a couple of days ago and went with LT285/70/17 D Load rated Toyo Open Country A/T's.
They are a 50K mile tire and they ride much better than the Ragged Trails!
Here is my.02 The Ragged trails are horrible tires. I had the KO on my last Nissan Hardbody and for an All terrain tire they are amazingly quiet, and handle great on road. In the snow I haven't met their match that is for sure. ( Had WildCat XTR's which are a mud terrain tire, horrible handeling and snow performance. By far the worst tire I ever bought. Oh yeah LOUD, LOUD too.) I have KO's on my Titan now and love the way they handle compared to the stockers. They probably are a bit rougher riding then the Revos you are considering, but cannot say for sure since I have never dealt with them. The KO's are an excellent tire, as they say you get what you pay for. They are pricey but, if you ever are in an offroad predicament of any kind you will not be sorry you have them.

I have the KO's as well and cannot be more happy with them. I also had them on my lifted silverado and got a great tread life of about 22,000 miles on them with showing very minimal tread wear. That is when I traded it in for the 05' Titan and just got the new BFG's put on. The rugged trails I had on stock lasted me a full 37,000 mi. They weren't bald but were getting close. I'll take BFG's anyday!
I think BFG makes one of the best offroad tire out there. they will last longer than almost any other tire out there or out perform, only if you take care of them. I recommend rotating every 3500 miles while checking air pressure and having your alighnment done at least once a year. Mine in the past have lasted over 50k miles and most my friends who take good care of them as well. I would spend the extra any day for the BFG's. just my 2cents

I just put the KO's on about two months ago and there great, All around, looks are the best, there not loud at all, the ride is great, and they will outlast 95% of tires out there. My freind had the revos and they werent as good in the snow as there rating showed them to be and they diidnt last more than 38K. If your going to go with the BFGs call MAVIS in newburgh ny on union ave next to auto zone, They gave me the best price. 845-566-5800. When i called them i was able to talked them down in price also, I paid $1000 even for the tires, mount balance, tax, and alignment, everything $1000 out the door.

i have been in the same boat trying to figure which tire to get and i am going w/ the REVOS. they have a better tread pattern for driving in rain and are more quiet. they are less expensive to top it off.
