Urgent Please Read

I just had installed HID headlights this morning. So I went to work and now when I tried to start it turned the engine. But I guess I cut it just before it supposed to start. So I tried second time. I turn the key - nothing happens. There is no sound of the starter.

Now everything else works, but the headlights and LEDs. Back lights dont work. Only emergency lights work + everything else inside the cabin lights up, but not outside.

So I\m stuck here =(

Re: Urgent Please Read

First thing I would do would be to unplug the HID's and check all the fuses.

Re: Urgent Please Read

How is the voltage stabilizer connected? Does it have a low voltage cutoff?

Re: Urgent Please Read

The stabilizer is not installed right now. So I have it just lying. Havent had time to do it.

The fuses seam to be ok at the first glance. What should I be looking for?
Why is it not even cranking?

Are you even getting a click or the attempt of it turning over? If you don't have a volt meter, what is the alt gauge showing for voltage?

Re: Urgent Please Read

gauges do have light comming up (the one when you turn headlights) But nothing like, battery abs 4wd lights are not lighting up . When I turn the key - nothing happens. When I turn on the lights - I just get the light in the cabin. And also no clicks or nothing. The battery seams to be good, so it can be a fuse. How can I check?

Re: Urgent Please Read

The fuse to the starter relay is one of the big ones on the thing that hangs off the positive battery post.

There are more fuses in the two boxes under the hood behind the battery.

Re: Urgent Please Read

If you disconnected the battery when installing the HIDs,
you might have a weak/loose connection on the battery post.

Re: Urgent Please Read

okey it was a big fuse on the batery. Not where it has four, but lonely one that is near the battery attachment! Now my truck requires a screwdriver to start =)

Now another thing is that in Halo head lights there are 3 LEDs on one there is only one working. And on two others there are two working and another one is almost not working. It blinks and is very dim.

Now how do I avoid this happening again? should I choose a bigger fuse for the starter, or what?

Re: Urgent Please Read

No no no...don't use a bigger fuse. You seem to have a wiring problem or a faulty electronic device if it blew that bad boy...

The added draw of a few leds should not blow a fuse...

Re: Urgent Please Read

remove headlights and start over... and pay close attention to your wiring.... something isnt right.... never use a bigger fuse either... could cause a fire...
