installed airlift airbags, got a question.

I installed them so each of them are filled independent of each other. I went to use them for the first time today. To get it to raise up about 1.5" i had to put 75 lbs in the left side and 50 lbs in the right side. Anyone else have the same thing happening with the different air pressures? I also realized i still have the helper springs installed and was wondering if I should take them off.

Re: installed airlift airbags, got a question.

With the gas tank on the left I'd think it would take a little more air.

Personal opinion- hook both bags together- if you do want to isolate the bags- put in a ball valve in between which you can shut AFTER inflating the system.
- but pressurize both bags to the same pressure.

Not sure what you meant- but if you're using the airbags for lift- you're gonna have one hella crappy ride.

Removing the overloads will drop the height a little. It will also lower your spring rate so you will have to rely on the airbags more when loading. It will ride softer and suffer a little axle wrap under acceleration.

I was lifting the rear to level out the truck. I have the leveling kit and I was towing a trailer that day. Whats the best way to hook the bags up to inflate together?

Re: installed airlift airbags, got a question.

I have mine hooked seperate. I always air mine up before the load goes on and then deflate as needed to level the load. Otherwise If you have more weight on one side it will read more pressure. I only air mine to 80 psi with the bed empty. If you hook them together make sure to put the ball valve in as said above or you will find yourself leaning very bad in cornering.

I got the on board compressor for mine, but you could hook it up with a tee connection or a valve for each side.

A "T" fitting. You may have to find an outfit that does aircompressors/pneumatics to get just the fitting.

My firestone kit came with a few t fittings so you could hook it up any way you wanted. The instructions covered every conceivable way.
