One thing he is concerned about is the Titan bed being too short in the bed. I heard there is a 6.5' bed in the crew cab now- this correct? What about 2wd with the limited slip. Is its worthwhile? He is worried about boat ramps. If its not worthwhile he may opt for 4x4.
he is also looking at the F150 (b/c of the great rebates and 6.5 bed) and the Dodge 2500 diesel quad cab b/c rebates are so amazing it is the same rpice or lower than the Titan or F150 but it is a Dodge and don;t have the best reputation outside the engine/tranny.
I am 1200 miles away so I can't go with him to go truck buying/searching...
Would value your thoughts on these buying options.

Why not talk him onto the weaker and cheaper F-150! He's only towing 3500 LBS! Sorry man....lol...couldn't resist!
For boating?....shhhesh, I'd have to suggest 4WD. Those ramps can get slippery as heII and our ABLS (LSD rear) works, but not as good as a true LSD. It works by braking the slipping wheel using the ABS sensors. For 2008, yes....there's a longbed crew cab available, but their not out just yet. Powerwise and trannywise, he'll be hard pressed to beat the Titan in the 1/2 ton catagory. He should also look at GMs new pickups. Don't leave any stones unturned.
