Hey there guys and gals. I just brought home a 2006 Radiant Silver Crew Cab LE Off-Road with Granite interior and 22k on the odometer. The truck has a utilit-trac bed extender, AWS chrome step bars, and the Nissan bug deflector. Found just the deal that I wanted through AutoTrader on Saturday, went to take a look at it this afternoon, and now have it parked in the garage - so this has been a good day!
I have been into the Titan since the first model year, but have not been able to get what I wanted until now. My wife is thrilled that we finally got one - she just thinks that I'm not going to be talking about it anymore!
I'll admit that I've been an unregistered lurker around here for about 1.5 years, and that all of the pics and information (both good and bad) helped me make my final decision. I drove every 1/2 ton out there in the last two months - the new Tundra (awesome power, but the transmission shuddered and the dash was just...weird), F150 (grossly underpowered, and 4-speed), new Silverado (again, with the 5.3, grossly underpowered, and a 4-speed) and the Ram (didn't like the lack of full-size crew cab, and the mega-cab is too big). Still came back to the Titan.
On the drive back home I couldn't help myself and did a few full-throttle pulls from stopsigns on the backroads leading to my house - I've still got a grin on my face.
I'll try to get a couple of pics up sometime in the next few days, once i get past the 15 post minimum.
Congratulations on your new truck!. Welcome to the Titan family and wish you nothing but many happy miles to come.
Clint

lurch - silver is the fastest, right? i have been wavering between red brawn and silver for the last few months. but after looking at my truck out of the window at work today, i know i made the right choice.
as far as mods, first is a canvas cover for the back so my dog doesn't destroy the seat. second will be a prg leveling kit. i also want to add a set of off-road driving lights mounted in the lower grill opening and possibly get a set of flares. i forgot to mention that the previous owner had the taste to tint the front windows to match the back. the tires are still the stockers, and they may have 8k-10k miles left in them. i want something a little more aggressive/larger so i guess that counts as a mod, right?
kellyj - i can't wait to take it out camping this spring. i'm looking very much forward to that. i've got to figure a good way to strap a canoe on though...i've got several gashes on the roof of my dakota from carrying 15' canoes to and fro off-road. i reaaaally want to avoid that on the titan.
that's right, silver's the fastest!! good choice.
have you checked out the aftermarket nissan bed-rack? it's built for carrying stuff above the cab & over the bed. plus the rack looks cool.
about the exhaust, go for it! get a FlowMaster 50 if you don't want incredibly loud but definitely more aggressive (i have the 50, but i'm swappin it out for a 40 soon because i just want to scare people).
i am thinking about roll bars (for looks)
but i also wanna mount lights on top and use it as a headache rack and weld a grate over the rear window like with a headache rack
but roll bars seem to look better...
i dont know
but i will think about it
