In regards to my post last week (So Dissapointed) I am now so very very happy to say the least. I finally got my VDC OFF Switch installed at the dealer today. I went back to the same spot that I figured out what was going on with my truck and put it in 4HI from a complete stop and it was like a totally different truck with the VDC OFF switch, before it wouldnt even move in 4HI, today i was throwing mud all over the place. Not to mention pulling out in traffic in the rain. NO MORE ENGINE CUT OUT!
My service tech just couldn't beleive it, He was very sorry for the two years 73000k miles I had been driving with no VDC OFF Switch. I think he felt so bad he gave me the 2Deg timing advance I had also been asking for. The Consult programers are neat. I wish I knew of anything else to do to the truck b/c he pretty much said "anything else you want me to do while I have it hooked up?" I said More HP turn it up haha, he said he couldn't do that and even if he did know how he wouldn't, I totally didnt blame him for his jobs sake.
To anyone else out there that may have this issue with the early 04' OFF ROADS equiped with VDC on your sticker and came with no VDC button, There is a 4 prong pigtail behind the blank switches (Red/whitestrip,Red/Bluestrip,Brown wire and Black with white dashes) that plugs right into a VDC button Nissan Part# 251465Z000. Dont even have to mess with the dealer crapola, 31$ on some Nissan factory part web sites I found.
I have posted this b/c for two years It seems that I am the only one that had a misbuild of this nature, I looked for this type of post for EVER. I feel if it will help another man out in the future my loss is someones gain.
Good to hear that this had a happy ending. Betcha feel like you have a new truck now when offroading!

Please tell me it look like this. I don't have VDC but do have the Trac Package (similar except Trac Package can't be turn off). This is the only four wire pigtail I saw, there was a few others but they were all 5 wires of more.

All you have is the rear wheel ABLS. There's no factory switch to install that'll turn that off but...ABLS won't do what VDC will when you're offroading. ABLS can only help whereas VDC cuts power so you'll go nowhere.

Yep thats it, I messed up with the first quote, it is red with white stripe instead of black stripe. I think in the wiring diagram those wires go to the VDC but it may be worth a shot. Good luck

CHEERS! Have a good weekend everyone.
Kirk
Congrats! I'm glad you got that all cleared up. So.....now that you've been made whole again, I can again say....if you have VDC, you have the VDC OFF button! otherwise, it was built on a Monday or Friday! There seems to be a good reason the Murano and Z have such excellent ratings and few complaints....because their still built in Japan where pride in your work still means something.

Thanks kirk, I'll give it a shot.
I have the Trac Package, I did some testing with it and YES it does cut power to the throttle along with ABLS. Another well respected member from CT also did some testing and concluded that the VDC and Trac Package basically do the same thing except for some reason in 05 you cannot turn of the TP. IF that plug look to be right I'm willing to spend the $30 just to test it out, if it don't work than Oh well I tried.

If your testing holds water on doing the same thing, I dont see why it wouldnt work. When you look up the part number on the web sites, the description says, VDC<TRACTION CONTROL<LIMITED SLIP ETC... I think you might be on to something, the techs told me all it does is ground out the VDC and turns it off while still keeping ABLS intact.
