USA Today article

Anyone see this where they said the Titan is a non player in the industry and that the 2008 is NOT a redesign but a minor tweak to see if Titan can get any market share? KInd of a tough article. Same paper had an article on the new Altima and they loved it so it wasn't just anti Nissan....

Re: USA Today article

It was never meant to compete head to head with the Big three sales wise. It is meant to be an alternative to the Big Three. Its hasn't hit its sales goal of 100K, but at around 80K units annnually its still Nissans third best selling vehicle out of its twelve models.

I thought the Maxima would be ahead of the Armada.

Re: USA Today article

www.nissannews.com shows the sales numbers, sorry the Titan is actually fourth after looking at it again, but the Altima, Sentra, and Murano are the top three. The Maxima is behind the Titan by about, 2,000 units YTD.

Re: USA Today article

Don't get me wrong. I like my F150 but I don't think the media gives Nissan enough credit on its vehicles. It seems to have a love affair with Toyota and Honda. Yeah they are reliable as hell but they just are not "Drivers" cars or trucks. They are bland as Buicks. If you dont "like" to drive you get a Honda/Toyota. If you are a driving enthusiast, you get the NIssan. When the Titan came out it was pretty ground breaking with its power/tranny and interior room. Media kind of yawned at it - nothing like the attention the new Tundra is getting.

This has always frustrated me and yet Im in an F150. Go figure

Sure, because 90% of what's on the list aren't trucks. Trucks are body-on-frame. Uni-body SUVs are just that..SUVs, not trucks.

Re: USA Today article

A non player in the industry? what exactly is that suppossed to mean?

Is is a player, and a good one at that..

It wont get the government fleet contracts and what not, and we all know the truck brand loyalty thing with the big three hurts sales, but it is indeed a player!

BTW, the altima deserves all the great reviews it gets, the v6 model form 05 and up are awesome sleepers!

Yah they need to use the Microsoft way. Pay people to change Wikipedia entries and spend more on marketing..

then everyone will think Nissan is the best.

Re: USA Today article

Nissan, not being an american brand has already got my vote for reliability. I agree with the other guy who said most honda's and yotos are bland. When I think nissan, I think fast and sporty, that's what most of their vehicles go for. As long as they keep making this truck, I don't care what the magazines have to say, I think it's sweet. Plus it fits me physically better than most vehicles.

Re: USA Today article

Generally speaking, toyota and honda are a step above nissan in quality, but who gives a crap. Drive what you like, and Nissan has much better styling and much more sportier, and the quality is still up there, so why waste time *****ing baout why people think toyota or honda are better, actually, they are...

Re: USA Today article

The Titan came in second, ahead of every other 1/2 ton except the Silverado in this months Car and Driver magazine compo test. Very good write up. It'll be on line soon.

And here: a bit older, but..
