Question 07 XE Keyless Entry

I bought an 07 XE Crew Cab last week. I have a question about keyless entry. I got a working keyfob from the dealer and tried to program it with no luck. It appears my keyless is turned off in the BCM. I even brought it back to the dealer to have them try. Initally they said it would work then said it wouldn't and told me to seek an aftermarket alternative. My question is I have electric locks and the tire pressure sensors so I should have the requirements. Has anyone successfuly "turned on" the keyless option in the BCM? If so what do I need to ask them to do in "nissan speak"?

I have, many times. It has to be turned on in the configuration section of the BCM. It is also the same menu where you turn on the fog lights, if it is wired for it. This is using the Consult-II.

Thanks cpaul. I put a call in to the dealership I bought the truck from to see if they say it is possible I may need to call another dealer to see if they will be more helpful.

Thanks

Michael

Well there is 3 Nissan dealers in my area and two of them said that it cannot be done. The third said I needed to buy a SE BCM and have it installed........

Re: 07 XE Keyless Entry

I've got the same problem. are there any nissan techs here that could shed some light on this subject? perhaps try turning it on in the bcm on a titan that's on the lot? or list instructions on how to do it through the bcm with a consult 2?

Re: 07 XE Keyless Entry

Ok, I figured this would happen so I went out yesterday evening and programed a 07 cc XE w/power windows and locks just to make sure I wasn't crazy. To perform this procedure hook up Consult and select Nissan and give it a few minutes to load. In the menu you will have selections like engine, trans.,abs, bcm, airbag, hvac, and so on. not in that order. Select bcm. then select bcm again. Scan down the list till you see configuration and select. You have two options. one is read configuration and the other is write configuration. Select write configuration and when the screen pops up to only do this when replacing bcm select ok or yes don't remember which it says. When you see the next screen it will say manual setting item over two columns. First column will say over the top of it Item. The second will say Set Val. Under the column that says Item there will be one that says Keyless Entry, across from it under the Set Val column is the current setting. If it says With then your truck is already set up for it, if it says Without then tap the screen over the word Without and it will change to with. Then press change and it will start to print the list of manual setting items and the list of auto setting items. I will also have the part # of your bcm which should be 284B2-ZJ20A. Then press OK. Since you are already in the bcm area go to the part to program the remotes and program them. I have the Consult printout where I did this in my hand but for some reason my scanner does not want to scan them or any thing else for that matter. Oh the part where it says auto setting items the dealer cannot touch. I know it would be tempting to try to change some of these other items because I have read a bunch of other threads about some of them but the dealer can't.

I have an EX with keyless entry. It was part of the EX preference package. So you shouldn't need an SE BCM.

Re: 07 XE Keyless Entry

Ok I have an appointment in the morning to get this done (I hope) . I am going to browse the forums to find that keypad for keyless entry and see if the dealer has one of them in stock I can get a deal on.

Re: 07 XE Keyless Entry

Well I was able to get the dealer to turn it on for me. The service managers response afterwards was "Didn't know we could do that". Now I bet they are going to have a new "option" for the xe trucks.

Thanks a lot cpaul.

Re: 07 XE Keyless Entry

Well, I took it to the dealer and they couldn't get it to work. I gave him the printout and he said he followed it step by step, but when he got to the Keyless entry part, he said it wasn't there. Should I take it to another dealer? Any suggestions will help. Thanks.
