Important 2 degree adv ques

I bought my titan second hand and I am going to get the timing advance done but I am now wondering:

what would happen if the previous owner had it done already?
is there anyway of knowing if he did?
and if there is noway of telling if it has already been done will it do damage if it gets done twice?

I bought my truck from a dealership so there is no way of getting ahold of the previous owner.

If you're getting it done for free, then reset the ECU and THEN go get it done.

I don't think the ECU will allow more than 3* advance anyway. So you couldn't do it twice if I understand/remember correctly what I've read around here.

Re: Important 2 degree adv ques

When they hook it up it tells them what the timing is at and I'm assuming if they wouldn't try it if it was already advanced.

Contact your dealer. Most won't even touch it anyhow.

If they use the Cypher software they will know. (that what was used on my truck so thats all i know) You will see the stock setting as 15 or the advanced setting as 17.
