Leveling kit??

Hey guys, I see a lot of people are installing a leveling kit on their titans, what exactly does this do for you?

Re: Leveling kit??

I lifts the front to be level with the back. It is purely cosmetic.

Re: Leveling kit??

I see, thanks for the info. I kind of like the way it sits now, I have the kc 4x4 off road package, I guess I would have to see one with the kit on it to decide whether I like it or not.

Re: Leveling kit??

I like the way mine looks with the level kit. Much better than stock in my opinion.

Re: Leveling kit??

Does it affect the way it rides/handles at all?

Re: Leveling kit??

Some people claim it rides better, but I think it rides the same. The new bumpstops that come with the prg kit do take some of the jarring out of the real rough stuff, but other than that it is the same to me.

Re: Leveling kit??

Did you do your own install, or is it something that needs to be done professionally?

Re: Leveling kit??

People have done both for installation. It's not hard if you're a bit mechanically inclined. Just takes a few hours. I would like to add that the truck having a more level stance (for me at least) does change the seating position by levelling it as well. I don't feel like I'm sliding out of my seat. Well, more correctly, wifey doesn't feel like she's sliding out of hers since it doesn't have that adjustment like the driver's seat does.

Re: Leveling kit??

It's a pretty simple install. Can be done with normal tools. Do a search in the "Suspension" section and you'll find out alot. It's frustrating sifting through all the BS in some of the threads, but trust me, the info that you are looking for is in there.

Re: Leveling kit??

If you'll look in this thread, you'll find the instructions for the kit posted.

Best of Titantalk

Those are PRG's instructions by the way.

Re: Leveling kit??

The install took me almost a hour for the first side and about 30 minutes for the second side. The instructions in the prg kit are great. Just need a couple wrenches, ratchet, sockets, hammer and a couple jack stands.

Re: Leveling kit??

yeah that makes sense, should have told the wife that is why they make seat beltss (to keep you from sliding off the seat): Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for vendors selling the kit?

I went with the PRG. I'm one of his fans. The NCD kit though is pretty much the same, and many here have used it. In fact, I think there's a group buy thread right now for NCD's kit.

Edit: Those are the only two I'd recommend.

Re: Leveling kit??

I recommend the prg kit, it comes with everything you need and no one has ever had any complaints from the kit or the vendor.

Is an alignment a must after the install?
