BFG's 285/65/18

Discount tire is saying $1070OTD. They said that is the best that they could do. Has anyone bought these tires before? What did you pay?

Check the forsale forums.

For some reason stock tires cost more than my friend's 35's

Re: BFG's 285/65/18

Now you have to take the tires to a Tire store and have them balanced mounted. I like to protect my investment so I get an alignment to make sure my tires don't wear unevenly or premature add all that up and your way out there. I paid around $900 with an alignment to boot for Bridgestone Revos and I couldn't be happier. I got a quote for around $175 a tire on line and took it to my nearest Bridgestone dealer and told him to match it and he could have my business. He did and the rest is history. Keep shopping around you can do better IMO.

Re: BFG's 285/65/18

My local Bridgestone dealer in Tucson told me that many bridgestone tires are going on sale 13-14-15 April 2007 for 25 percent off the sale price. This includes the Revos.

Sounds about right. I paid $230 per tire plus mount/balance/tax/etc. That's why I stuck with 18s instead of going with 20s They were over $300 each!

Ive had them on every truck I have owned in the last 10 years and I don't believe that there is a better longer lasting tire out there... especially if you do any off road stuff. The Bridgestones seem to get great write-ups but I have seen some pretty dire results off road with them. Apparently, they are a great street tire but the BFGs are built to handle rough stuff better...

Just my opinion.

Use a local tire dealer. You'll get a better deal. You don't pay mounting and balancing or shipping so...you come out ahead.

Re: BFG's 285/65/18

Thanks everybody I appreciate youre advice. I found the tires for $219 a piece on onlinetires.com. The shipping is $62. I asked discount to match it and this is what they told me. Its about $20 more than online total so I think its worth it to go to discount and not have to hassle with online.

Re: BFG's 285/65/18

I think I paid about $220ea at Costco, plus $175 or so to have them installed and an alignment at Firestone/Bridgestone. Discount Tires sounds like a comparable price.

That's about what I paid. But Costco also installed mine. Would they not install yours because of the different size?
