OK, its specifically for an '05 Nissan Xterra, but the parts for both the front and rear diffs and axlehousings are nearly--if not--identical to the ones you need for your Titans....
My name is Dan and I am a member of Team Xterra Racing who races in the Best in the Desert offroad series...due to the issues we have had with both our front and rear diffs and axles (implosions, breakage, etc.) we have had to find a solution....Given that Xterras, Frontiers, and Titans have all had these same problems I figured you might be interested in knowing what we have going on...Though the very details cannot be released at this very moment (products are being produced and installed as I speak) I can confirm that new, high strength gears, diffs, axles, spools, and more for the Xterra (and similarly the Frontier and Titan) will be installed and working before the end of this month....For more info please go to Team Xterra Racings homepage at: teamxterraracingdotcom and post any questions or comments you may have...We can't answer all questions as some things have to be kept under wraps till our next race at the end of April but we will do the best we can...The first specific product I can release is a lightweight Nismo racing clutch which has already been shipped to our team and will be installed shortly...We will be the first Nissan running this product and will be able to report on its performance shortly....Again, thanks for your time and Rock on Nissans!!!
Interesting. I wasn't aware that the axle, differentials, gears and locker were identical between the Titan, Frontier and Xterra. I kind of assumed the Fronty and X were very similiar if not the same, but sorta figured the Titan components were significantly larger.
Even if they are different and won't bolt on, it is still good to see someone working with Nissan and gear manufacturers on replacement components for our vehicles.
Now, let's hope it carries over to the Titan!!
Regards,
John

The Titan rearend is identical to that carried by the OR and I believe SE models Xterra's...same weird D44 variant....Here is Dave's latest post...
"GREAT NEWS"
The diff gears are in the works right now! I will post more at a later date. I started these because I needed them for my Xterraracer program. I requested 4.88, 5.13 and 5.38 ratios to start. I have another vender building rear spools and axles for the Nissan D44 housing. I am still working on the front LSD w/4 spiders and inner CVs.
I will more than likely bring out some longer tubular arms as a kit with longer axle shafts and tie rods. Note; these won't be for my racer, but because "X" owners would like the option. This mod may warrant molding some 3" wider glass fenders too.
Believe me when these are ready to hit the market everyone on these "X" related sites will know!!!
I'll take your word that they're identical. That's really great news and I appreciate you taking the time to come over to this board and post.
I know of at least 2 Titan owners who are looking for a solution for longer rear axles to compliment a planned long travel kit up front. I'm interested in a stronger differential solution that includes a locker. ARB has a rear, air locker coming out later this year and white board plans for a version for the front. The more options we have, the better!!
Any information on whether the front differentials are the same between the X and Titan? It'd sure be nice to have gears and a locker for up front too.
Please keep us posted as you learn more.
Regards,
John

Can you tell me what the model # is on the front diff for the Titan??
There are apparently two different versions, one for the Big Tow and one for Non Big Tow. I don't know if anything is different other than the gear ratio.
"We had thought that the R180A was going to be the answer but we found it had a different bolt pattern for the ring gear and the pinion length was wrong. It seams the only thing that was the same was the discription R180A. The manufacture I am working with has decided to build the stuff. This may cause us to only get one option for front diffs but, it will be the 4 spider gear clutch type locker.
I also found out that the Titan front end is not the same as the X like we all had thought. The Titan rear is the same, just wider axle tubes with longer axles. So I think we will end up with several options for the rear, since the market is Titan driven."
Thanks for the update Spalind. To clarify, is your source still looking to create new gears and a locker for the front end of Titan's or limiting their efforts on front end work to the X-Terra?
From your post, it seems clear they are pursuing a couple different rear end options for Titans. It sounds like this includes a locker for the rear. Is this to be a manual, electric or air locker?
Again, thanks for keeping us updated.
Regards,
John

Even more info:
"Yes as the market is Titan driven. They are building the Xterra stuff as my /Nissan's request. The thought here is that they will sell what they build. I know as for the rear spool that fits the D44 variant, first run is 25 units. I am taking 2 of them. I wish I could spill it all, but I have to wait.
Can you imagine a spool with 5.38 in rear and a clutch locker with 5.38s up front what you will be able to do on the trail? "Now that should make you drool!!!!"
The Rear Spool he is referring to will be completely compatible with the Titan rear end....the front end I'm not as sure about but I believe that even though we as a racing team are more focused on our own vehicle (Xterra) that the company(ies) making these items are making them for the Titan first and the Xterra second as he says--per our and Nissan's request....I would look for more specific info regarding the exact company(ies) and products to be released at the end of this month as this is when we have our race and will be using many of these new products...
