my 4x4 story

well for my first trip with my 07 4x4 Titan (i have had it two months) i went to
Corpus Christi, to be precise Big Shell

well i have a stock 4x4, not off road meaning no off road tires or shocks

the sand was VERY loose and deep (i have seen worse)

but it was a challenge, if you know where i am talking about you know it is in the middle of nowhere

well it was Saturday

and there was a lot of other 4x4 trucks there mostly Fords and Chevys

but i saw 2 Titans

every vehicle had lifts and large off road tires

i had stock both remember

well in a particular stretch there was really deep soft sand

well a Ford (FX4 F150) was stuck and was getting a tow from a Chevy, he dug himself in

i passed by and stopped in the deep sand to say hi (window to window)

and asked if he knew what was ahead he said more of the same stuff but even more loose

i decided to give it a try
just about a half mile more another Ford (F250) was stuck
then another F250 had broken tie rods

but i must say my Titan surprised me i though for sure i would have trouble with the stock tires, but it pulled threw like a trooper

the other 2 Titans were where i was and had no trouble
but the Fords had a bad day...lol

o well i just thought i would share my story

Re: my 4x4 story

After watching the sand hill climb and this story, I'm glad I got a titan. Almost opted for the F150 but the power and torque of the titan sold me.

Re: my 4x4 story

I pulled a small trailer through really soft sand without letting out any air pressure and got stuck...Put it in 4 low with the e-lock and worked my way out without having to deflate the tires (about 10 yards off the freeway at glamis where I had to pull over to wait for my Dad with the trailer) so I didn't want to have to airdown...

Stock tires or not the titan handles sand really well. Now if you had a toy hauler hooked to the back then the larger tires would definately be extreamly helpful.

Mine is all stock to as far as tires and shocks. I think I will get at least 40k out of these stock tires... I have 33k so far and they will easily last me untill the end of summer when I can throw my BFG Mud Terrains on it (Already have them. Go with all terrains though when you replace I just got a deal on the muds...

Re: my 4x4 story

I made that same trip back in 05 and I was the only Titan I saw all week. The Titan does handle sand very well. Word must have got out...Did you fish at all?

I can attest to the Titan's prowess in sand.

Re: my 4x4 story

Now that I have these on it does even better.

Don't go muddin much, but the Titan is good in the snow too. Been in a few snow situation up north, not real bad, but enough to be concerned and it was good in the white stuff too.

Exact same size as stock. All the numbers were the same.
