Re: gas light

Varies from truck to truck but usually about 8 gals. left. When ever my lights come on, I fill up 22 gals.

Re: gas light

Mine has about 6. The other night I pulled my trailer 50 more miles after it came on, and the truck took 26 gallons.

Re: gas light

yeah anywhere between 8-10... i driven with it on for a few days (during the week my haul to and from work is 5 minutes, and that's if i hit the two traffic lights) and the truck only needed 24 gallons.

Re: gas light

gas light makes me nervous. I fill up when I get to 1/4 tank or just above that and usually takes between 17 and 20 gallons

Re: gas light

With the price of gas these days, I usually fill up when I'm down to half a tank so it is not so painful.

Re: gas light

For my Titan its always very close to needing 21 gallons when the gas light comes on, so I've got about 7 gallons remaining in the tank.

Re: gas light

I've got a 2006 SE Crew Cab 2WD. It may be the pitch on the stock suspension but I consistently show 4 gallons left when the light goes on.

Exactly...really no difference whatsoever. Technically, you'd probably get worse gas mileage from having your tank 1/2 full or more, all the time. Therefore, it'll cost you more to never go below 1/2 a tank.

Re: gas light

I usually have about 7 left, which is interesting because if we have a 28 gallon tank, and the light goes on with about 7 left in the tank, that means we still have 1/4 tank, yet the needle is well below the 1/4 mark. This isn't unique to our trucks, i've experienced it with other vehicles as well. It doesn't seem that hard to construct a gas tank with accurate sensors. Oh well, what do I know.
