I FINALLY noticed a brake judder on my '04 ..so it's going in for warranty coverage tomorrow am (0815hrs)....ANYTHING else I should specifically ask them to look at?
Thanks so much in advance ..btw..i'm NOT noticing ANY other probs with the truck other than the stupid seatbelts..and an odd noise on start up..(almost like the 6 CD's in the changer lining up kinda sound)
I don't have the time tonight (arghh) to search all the threads..a quick reply from any 04 owners would be swell..

thanks a bunch once again!
I had my '04 front brakes redone..
1. Take a look at the TSB for this. Should replace rotors and calipers to begin with, not just give you new brake pads..
2. Never heard what you hear on start up. Can't help there.
3. There was a seatbelt recall on the back ones. The front ones can easily collect lint/debris so they should be able to clean it out...
2.

Make sure they replace the front rotors, cut the rear rotors, and all new pads, bolts and pins.

Check the tranny cooler lines for leaks. (there is a tsb) Check the rear axle seals for leaks. Check the side seals on the front diff for leaks. Check the Body Control Module Harness (per the recall).

Have them check the exhaust manifold for cracks. That could be your weird sound

My wife thinks I spend to much on my truck!! My Train Horn <-- Listen
I have that sound it is the ac and heat ducts changing position. after start up try to change fom front vents ove to defrost. be quiet and listen for the same sound. I bet that is what it is. I wonderd for months.
I have a o4 with the brake problem it has about 50k miles will they still fix that? I was just going to buy new roters and hope that would do the trick.
someone posted a deadline a while back..i dunno ? i'm in Canada...and it was yesterday i had to hard brake and noticed a judder...immediately called the dealer (because of this site )
I am JUST under the dead line...my truck was purchased May 04 ~wipes the sweat from brow~ ..I only have 31,000 KMS on it...give your dealer a call ...all they can say is no?
My dealer said it's not a "recall" ..it's an "upgrade" I dunno wtf that means, but maybe if your not covered the repair bill won't be as painful?...all i know is that it better not have a judder when i pick it up this PM .
Go to www.nissanhelp.com and look at all the TSB they have for 04. If you feel any of the listed TSB is what you're experiencing, just print it out and ask them to look at it.
As for the noise, on start up your ABS goes through a check up procedure, it might or might not be that noise but it does make a noise.
I had the "brake judder" fix done in Dec/06 (new brake pads front & rear; new rotors front, rear machined). Ever since this fix, my brakes squeal especially after the Titan has sat for a while. Service manager at dealership is telling me this is normal. I say BS and I'm getting very annoyed. Taking the truck back to the dealership in a couple of weeks for them to relook at the brakes to determine why they are squealing. They're telling me that if don't find any manufacture defect in the parts or poor workmanship when the parts were installed then I'm out of luck and will have to live with the squeal.
Keep me informed as to how your brake fix goes - Thanks
