Throttle body bypass question

Hi.

I was wondering if there is fluid in those pipes that run through throttle body. If I take the piping off would it leak hard? Whats the right way to do this? I bought some silicone high temperature pipes and want to replace stock tommorow, as well as putting TBS (guess that would be the right time to do the bypass.)

Also, if I were to replace all stock pipes, should I drain the fluid first? How do I do this?

Re: Throttle body bypass question

Yes....it pumps antifreeze through the TB.

I got a piece of conector tube...and ran the two rubber hoses together...and got a rubber cover for the two inlets on the throttle body.

Re: Throttle body bypass question

You will loose a little bit off coolant when disconnecting the hose. Put a rag underneath to soak up any coolant coming out.

Re: Throttle body bypass question

Somebody did it with valves so you could turn it on or off. I think they posted photos. You might want to be able to turn it back on in the winter in cold climates.

Re: Throttle body bypass question

I did! Engine still a bit waqrm from a few hours earlier.

I did it with two valves, was not pleased with the curvature in the hoses. I'm going to change from a straight barb to a 90 Degree barb, one on each valve. This will make a shorter, direct fit that I can trust more.

Fairly easy install, even if no noticeable differance, might as well do it.
