Fuel Filter

Does anybody know anything about the fuel filter on the Titan.
The oil change place says it doesn't have one.
I think that has to be BS.

Re: Fuel Filter

Yes, and basically never, unless it clogs up. Many vehicles are made this way, never get changed until 150K or more when a problem shows up, like a pump failure. Don't worry about it.

Re: Fuel Filter

I was told it and the fuel sending unit are attached together??? I was told by the dealership that mine had to be replaced at around 10k miles when they replaced the faulty fuel sending unit.

Re: Fuel Filter

That is because it is such an integreated design. Once you drop the tank, you might as well replce everything. Replacing at 10K is not a part of scheduled maintenance. Schedule probably says 100K.

Re: Fuel Filter

Here's a diagram of what's all involved with the fuel tank.
The filter, sensor and pump is one unit.

I apologize to everyone for the mis-wording. The fuel sending unit went out at 10k and that is why they told me they had to change the fuel filter at that time (while they changed the FSU) They DID NOT tell me you had to change it at 10k, just was trying to say that was how many miles I had when the fuel sending unit went bad.

He is right, you will not have to change the fuel filter until around 100-150k miles. My wifes Tahoe we just sold was the same way. They said it was to be changed at 100k.
