going against a z71

hey guys my best freinds brother just bought a 01 z71 extended cab with a lift and 33'2 on it looks like it it might have some work done to it. my friends is saying that it'll pull my titan 05 crew flowmaster muffler other than that stock. what do u think? should i. or should i wait till i get the 2* timming? oh one other thing would i be better off locking it in to 4lo and letting them think i was in hi or not?

Re: going against a z71

I think he means a tug of war. Using 4Lo will help, but if you don't want to cheat, you HAVE to get the jump on him. As long as you have the slack taken up on the tow strap, when they say go....FLOOR that ***** for all its got and don't let off!! You can't think about any damage on a pull off! If you get that slight pull on him before he goes, he'll never recover.

Re: going against a z71

the best way to win is to keep on the brakes until he starts spinning, then ease into it and he wont stand a chance.

Re: going against a z71

Are you guys doing this on pavement???!!! Tires are going to play a big part. If on pavement, street tires would be best IMO. Also - put some weight in the bed. A 4-wheeler, or a couple of tractor weights - maybe even a dozen drunk friends. Definitely use 4-lo.
