i found a few more titans in az. one for 16k its a 4x4 se cc. and a nice se kc. i wanted the kc at first. both dealers already contacted me and are seeing what we can pull. the cc is at a ford dealer so it was easier to talk them down to 15k.

That sounds reasonable. Remember, it is now 2008. KBB is usually high just a bit for trade in and resale.

If you look at getting a warranty talk to your bank / credit union some of them will work directly with a nissan dealer near you and instead of taking it back to ford you would take it directly to Nissan.
