Believe it or not, I just took the front brakes off my car for the first time since I got it. (actually, I think I put new pads on it right after I got it... 7 years ago.) Mainly to see how the dust shields were attached and remove them. I noticed that the inner wheel bearing seats against the dust shields. Did you guys keep the center part of the shield and trim it off? or remove it completely?
Also, can you get that cloth seal, or whatever it is behind the dust shield? I've never seen anything like it before.
I can't believe how good my brakes look, after 25,000 miles, dozens of autocrosses, and a couple of open track events.
They overheated at the opentrack events, even with the ducts, but the pads have so much material, they almost look new. The rotors are also in great shape... I'm tempted to just throw it back together, and hope they'll stay cooler and not fade as bad without the shields...
Naw, I'll probably upgrade the pads at least, and put on some braided lines.
I also run synthetic brake fluid.
I'd like to upgrade to the 12.19 wilwoods, but don't need the hassle... maybe this winter. Besides, I can't find anyone who can get them.

How did you get a Titan 7 years ago?? Do you realize you are on a Nissan TITAN forum??
Upon further review...
I had an appointment at the dealer yeserday. After looking at the rear end closely we noticed the rear seal must just be starting to leak. Since it's still within the factory warranty, the dealer will be replacing the seal, and the shoes. Part of the job after replacing those parts will be adjusting the parking brake properly... Seems so far that the problem will be solved in a couple weeks....
My driveway is on a 25 degrees encline. I had problems using the parking brake when i bought the truck, when i took to the dealer for my first oil change, i complained about it, they adjusted it very nicelly (no charge) to the point where I just need to push it 1/2 way and it would fully lock the truck. I always do that before I put it on park, to eliminate any pressure to the clutch! This way you will not have that BIG "Cluck" sound when you shift out of Park.
I hope this helps... because i have such a big encline, on my driveway, i am expectiong to have them adjust it in the near future again.
So, don't take any crap from you Dealer. Parking brakes should work in a steep encline without having to push all the way down. If you are doing that, take it to the Dealer so they can adjust for you!
Good luck.

Well Said!!! and I agree completely, if your having issues with your parking break the dealer should adjust it for you (no charge, regardless if it's under warranty or not) or you could do it yourself but beware if you over adjust it you will burn the breaks; increase fuel consumption and possibly burn a rotor assembly (hopefully you would notice the smoke and smell the burning before this happens) but who knows, if adjusting yourself work in small increments until you get the e-break where you want it, good test is to life the vehicle up and rotate the wheels by hand in between adjustments (make sure you have it in neutral)
Good Luck.
