Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

Walmart carries two versions of the Mobil 1 5W-30 and I'm wondering which version everyone is using? They have the normal Mobil 1 5W-30 and the Truck and SUV hard working version. I don't tow or haul anything, just a daily driver to and from work. Which version is everyone using?

Thanks.

The truck and SUV and the 15,000 mile oils have different levels of additives in them, and are priced accordingly. I use the truck and SUV and have had no engine problems.

Re: Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

There are a number of different grades of M1 at Wally World. The standard version just says M1 Fully Synthetic. They also have the Truck & SUV Grade, and there is also an Extended Performance version. I haven't changed my oil yet. Only 900 miles on the truck, but I plan to use the standard M1 Fully Synthetic.

Can't go wrong with Royal Purple. I used M-1 for awhile....the 5w-20 or 30 should do.

Go with the tried and true blue capped 5W/30. Don't fall for that SUV and harsh use bullsh!t.

^ +1 to that.

I've tried all three types and haven't noticed a difference (I didn't do any Oil analysis's though). The only difference I beleive is that when I had the 5w30 EP in the truck I "seemed" to be able to hear more engine noise.
I change my oil at 3-4k regardless so for me the EP or T&SUV is just a waste of money. I think Walmart is the best place to get M1 oil.

On a side note I recently tried Penzoil Platinum 5w40 European formula (the older, true full synthetic non-Group III stuff they sell now) since I had it laying around for my Audi.
I did notice that my engine temp gauge read slightly lower (Before anyone calls BS..yes it read SLIGHTLY lower than what it had with M1 5w30 t&SUV oil in it...and the only factor that changed was the oil type/grade).
On the down side though the truck was a noticably harder to start when temps were at of below 45 deg. I'm switching back to M1 "blue cap" 5w30 full synthetic at the next oil change though due to the harder starting and M1 is soooo much easier to find and at Wally World's prices, cheaper.

Re: Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

I use the 15,000 mile extended life and change the oil twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. I put on about 20-25,000 per year.

Re: Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

I use the EP and change my oil and filter every 7500 miles. Oil analysis shows no problems.

Re: Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

I use the full syn M1 5W30. I don't use anything else. Change it out every 7500 or so miles. Have 24,000 now and no problems.

Re: Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

I use the Mobil 1 5W-30 SUV & Truck formula just because it makes me feel good. Besides, the Wal-Mart I shop at the regular M1 and Suv grades are priced the same.

Re: Which Mobil 1 5W-30 from Walmart?

I use Wally Worlds generic (Supertech) Full-Syn 5W-30 and change it every 5k. I have thought about doing a oil-analysis just to see if the generic is as good as the Brand names but I figure WalMart has got to be buying the oil from one of the major manufacturers so I'm not too worried especially since it is (it had better be) synthetic and I am changing it every 5k.

Same here...both are $19 and some change for the 5 quart jug. Thanks to all the insight everyone, going with the standard version myself.
