How none of the dealers can be good. So I'm supposed to take my 07' in for the fan recall this morning at 8:00am . The dealer where I bought my truck is 30 minutes from me . There is one that I don't care for 5 minutes from me but I asked them about it first. They told me the parts hadn't come in yet and to call in about a week . So I called the dealer that I bought it from and asked to check if they had the parts . They say they do. So I make an appointment. I get there today and guess what they don't have the parts. Absolutely ridiculous . How do you schedule an appointment without making sure you can provide the service? Maybe someone that works for any dealership can chime in and let me know what the hell is going on.
Gosch Nissan in Hemet ,CA has anybody used them. I'll see what the end result is but not very good for the first shot at their service department.

That certainty is not getting off on a good note. Now they are going to have to work extra hard to gain your respect. You would have thought by calling you would have been all set.

Mossy Oceanside would be your best bet. They have been very good to me in the past. Since you were thinking Hemet...might as go south and head to the beach and get your truck serviced. It's 30 min. either way from Murrieta...
i got a recall via phone from my nissan dealer.. they said i must bring my truck in immediately... So I call the dealer, talk to the service manager and ask him what the recall is... "i don't know"
i missed my appointment and haven't heard from them yet. i received a post card from nissan stating that the center seatbelt recall has to be performed... but it's already been there for that once...
i guess the thing with dealer service is this: what other choice do you have?
i mean, the dealer has nothing to lose but business, and they don't seem to care so much about that, which is ashame and one has to question whether it's the dealership, american worth ethic, or a combination of both.. the only people that give a **** are those held accountable, that's whom i prefer to deal with.

Exactly what I was thinking . But these new vehicles are so damn complicated not much you figure out with them without the computer scanners. I think the motto went from " The customer is always right " to "Pay the cashier on the way out ."

i'm thankful that my dad raised me in a shop and that i'll forever have the mechanical sense about me... when the service manager says something i can simply say "bull****, prove it, where's my part.. core charge?? F you!"

I would recommend Mossy Nissan in Oceanside myself. I bought my Mustang there and had a good experience with them. They seem to have a mind for quality on repairs. Never had my car in for repairs itself, but they were making sure the sprayers worked on their used cars for sale.

Here's my truck and an angry little force-fed 4-banger:
Every time I take my truck in to get something fixed, they have to "order" parts & I have to bring the truck back. It's a HUGE inconvenience.
I used to work @ a dealership & the owner always told sales people to sell customers on the fact that they had $5MM in parts in their parts department. I never understood why that's a selling point for a dealership, but now I do.
Do all Nissan service departments have this problem. It's not like they're huge items (ie: TP Sensors, emblems, recall items, etc.) I don't get it either.
Any of you Nissan Service Guys out there, I would like to hear your comments as well.
I used to do parts a little at a Nissan dealer. You can't keep everything in stock. There is no excuse for not having recall items in stock for newer stuff. Your main concern is to keep your fast moving parts around (eg. brakes, filters, belts, gaskets, plugs, and other common stuff like some alternators and such) And there is other items that that seem to be in demand in some areas more than others. On items such as alternators, for instance, its hard to keep everything because there is so many different models and years, some of which could use several different ones depending on equipment. Long story short, you can rack up a lot of money in inventory real fast and still not make everybody happy. If you don't think you are going to sell it within a month or sooner don't stock it.
I understand a parts department can't stock everything.
When I worked @ a GM dealer, they had a parts runner that would go to parts departments at other dealers to get what they needed. It's just a huge hassle for me & I'm tired of it.
I don't expect them to stock everything . The problem is they try and cram 50 or 60 appointments into one day. These guys obviously don't have the time to check stuff out . Just didn't make much sense to schedule an appointment without having the parts to complete it .
Enough of all that the truck was finished up this morning . Seems like the a/c works a little better now when stop for a bit . Anyone with the 07' should look into it . Just make sure they double check that they have the parts.

LOL I just had to pull that today... I brought my 06 in for the wiring recall and said I know there are a few AC TSB's out there (drain issue and not cooling well at idle) so I asked him to check those out to make sure it's all good. He said, "you know TSB's aren't covered under your warranty?" I almost laughed in his face... I said the truck doesn't even have 12k miles. At that point he said, "oh yeah, you have a 12k mile warranty." I gently reminded him that I have a 36k warranty. That was it for him trying to thieve me out of money. Then he went on to tell me that there is no problem with Titan AC's and if it smells a little, just use some lysol (I was not complaining about smell, but rather the drain issue getting the carpet wet and rotting away). I finally got fed up with this clown and told him I know how AC works, I'm almost done with my master's in mechanical engineering. At this point my regular service person came over and I called off the dogs as he walked back into his sliding window seat with his tail between his legs.
