If you are talking about a Titan then more power to you. If you are talking about a silly *** 95 Caprice with 26" wheels thats another story.

Clearance off-roading is clearance regardless of whether you have two wheel drive or four wheel drive. It's good. I have a CJ5 Jeep. It's heavily modded, including suspension lift and body lift, running 36 inch Super Swamper TSL's. I rarely need to engage the front axle, except in the worst conditions.
I have a locker in the rear and a true-trac in the front.
Even with two wheel drive, if you put a locker in the back you have both rear wheels pulling. That is usually better than just having the right rear and left front pulling, which is the case without lockers or limited slip.
Just one opinion. Lift it and enjoy the extra clearance. You'll go places you never could before. Consider a true-trac to replace your spider gears and go have some fun.
