service engine soon !

today my service engine soon light came on...it is sunday ofcoarse so no dealer are open...has anyone else experienced this...I have an 04 king cab with roughly 16,500 miles...I checked all the fluids and stuff and they are all normal..regardless I am going to call dealer tomorrow about the problem..I am just wondering if any one else has had this problem

Unscrew your gas cap and screw it back on tight. Drive a few miles and hopefully the light will go out.

`04 model ..... Check the battery if it has not been replaced yet....

Mine is still factory and doing good so far....

can you get the truck over 3000 rpms? If so then its likely not a truck killer SES light. BUt going to dealer or Autoparts store to have the code read is important. Dealer will likley charge you $90 to hook up. Autoparts store is FREE or for less than $90 by you a code reader.

Run the code at autozone and report to us. If none of us have had the problem, I'm sure we can hypothesize as to how to fix it.

Sometimes things go bad...you know sensors and whatnot. It happens.

Also, I'm fairly new to the titan world, but in my SRT, the light coming on means something is wrong, but the light blinking is the motor killer. Is it the same with the titan??

Sounds like you are still under factory warranty. If the SES light is blinking, that's bad and you should get it looked at ASAP.

Constant SES light...still take and get it looked at. Even if it's just the gas cap, battery, or whatever. The codes are stored, so have the dealer pull it.

Also...there is a HUGE difference between the $90 code reader and the actual diagnostic unit that monitors the different components.

No offense to Autozone, but I would not trust some gorilla who sells parts to tell me what's wrong with my truck.

I called the dealer.they can't get me in till wednesday..I will try to swing by autozone to see if it is serious enough to avoid driving it for a few days.

Mine was listed as "gross leak" first they replaced the gas cap which didn't solve it. Next they dropped the gas tank and replaced the gasket on top of the tank where the fuel pump is and that took care of it.

bum, take a look at this thread. It's a crude way to get the code # yourself. Once you know that you just look up the code to find out what the problem is:

does anyone know what the code 0603 means? I have a 2007 titan with only 1900 miles on it

P0603 is a diagnostic for your ECM power supply.
