Exclamation Nitto Or Not

Lookin for anyones thoughts on the Nitto Terra Grapplers? I do not off road too much and am only looking for something to give me good traction when i do but not too much noise on pavement and not tooo big to hurt gas mialage. Are these good, or is there a better alternative? Like BFG or Toyo? Thanks.

Re: Nitto Or Not

If you do very limited off roading look into the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. Great all around tire. Especially in the rain.

Re: Nitto Or Not

I'd recommend these tires to anyone. I've had them for over 20,000 miles and they're still going with lots of tread left. I have the 295's and they're not very loud.

Re: Nitto Or Not

Very good all around tires. I have the 325/60R18 and I have never had any problems. The price can't be beat.

Re: Nitto Or Not

I ordered the Revos and will get them on my truck this Friday. $724 plus tax, balanced and mounted. They are P rated though, 285/70/17, not LT rated.

I checked out the Nitto's and the BFG A/T KOs but when it came down to my final decision the Revo is what I really needed. I seldom go off road. We have lots of rain and some snow and live on a winding mountain road. I did not want increased road noise or vibration over the stock Rugged Trails. I still have the Rugged Trails at 33K miles and they have some tread but I just installed the PRG level kit and just decided to go ahead and get the Revos along with an alignment. The Revos aren't as aggressive looking as the Nittos or BFGs.

Also, the Nittos were $1120 plus tax and the BFGs were $1040 plus tax. So the Revos are more than $300 cheaper. I'm pretty happy about it, I just hope the tires are as good as many people have been saying. All the pricing I posted above are local dealers in Frederick Maryland.

Re: Nitto Or Not

The best all around tire that I've ever used on the Titan for performance, no noise, great wet and dry traction, R rated, and does a fine job in the sand at the beach is:

If you are more street than off road, I highly recommend these. I forget I'm in a 5000 lbs plus truck with these they grip so well, and no noise.

The PARADA Spec-X is Yokohama Tire’s Street/Sport Truck All-Season radial developed for performance pickups and SUVs, as well as modern muscle cars like the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum. The PARADA Spec-X is designed to combine impressive looks and confident handling with year-round traction in North America's wide range of weather conditions, including light snow.

The PARADA Spec-X radial’s all-season tread compound is molded into an aggressive directional tread design that features linked shoulder blocks, variably sized intermediate tread blocks and two continuous center ribs to combine acceleration, braking and cornering competence with a comfortable ride. A wide circumferential center groove and sweeping lateral grooves provide water evacuation to resist hydroplaning and increase wet traction. The tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon cord to provide strength, uniformity and durability on top of a polyester cord body that enhances ride quality.

Re: Nitto Or Not

If you do a lot of driving in the snow I hear the Nittos arent too well. But everything else (Sand, Mud, street) they work just great, and not that much noise.
