Re: Hid Lights?

That's pretty damn cheap. With 3k I'd think you'd definitely want projector headlight enclosures. That could be absolutely blinding to oncoming traffic if you just throw those into the stock enclosures. The only way around that would be pointing your lights as low as they go...

yup.

3000K Golden Yellow

3000K has an approximately 3200lm output, which is more than 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light. 3000K emits GOLDEN YELLOW color and offers superior penetration power during adverse weather epically in dense fog. The applications of the 3000K kit aim more towards secondary lighting apparatus such as high beam and fog lights. The 3000K capsule is actually a 5000K capsule specially coated with a film that filters out all the wave length except the range of wave length which emits yellow. This is the color temperature that will catch all the attention on the road.

The lower the Kelvin number, the closer to yellow they are. It has nothing to do with brightness. BMWs use a light closer to 6500k which has a bluer tint to it. 3000K, although white, has a more yellow tint. So the number has more to do with your color preference than anything else. If you want bright white, you'll ntice that you want tp be between 4000k and about 6000k.

This chart may help you decide. It shows how the Kelvin number corresponds with the color.

Re: Hid Lights?

BTW, I have the 6000k in both my Titan and the wifes 05 Quest. Very bright and can't be beat in inclement weather.

I know the lower you go down the scale has little to do with brightness but the more yellow they are the harder they are to look at...maybe it's just me but the yellow HIDs are just brutal coming at you.
