This part of the article made me lol since they went from talking about imminent crashes and then say this:

"But the driver still has ultimate control over the vehicle at all times, and can choose to keep the gas pedal depressed and maintain speed even after the warning."

this raises an intersting question: is adding all the sophisticated computer controlled equipment to vehicle making people worse drivers?

i remember cars before abs.. while abs has "helped" a few times it was also confusing because it affected my ability to respond to the driving situation by taking control...
