What I get for showing off!

well, the other day i was at my nephew's, who is 17 and has an older Accord and he'sdoing a few mods. so he thinks his Accord is loud... HA!
so i figured i show off my Banks Exhaust w the Nismo CAI.
so im reving it up in front of his house,.... VRROOOOMM< VRRROOOOOM!

getting ready to peel out. the road is on a slight hill, so it rolls back a lil bit, so i put the E brake on. (didnt want to run over his lil brother).... VRRROOOOM< VRRRRROOOOM!...... VRRRROOOOOMMMMMM!
so i floor it! of course, did a nice tire squeeel and VRROOOOOMMMMM!
BUT...along came the highest pitch squeek u'll ever here if u decide to floor it w the E brake left on (me bad)!!!!!!!!
of course i took it off as soon as i realized i wasnt ready for the local drag strip!...

apparently the E brake is ok. it still works. did i damage it in any way?
what was causing that squeel? im sure it wasnt a good thing.
E brakes experts please chime in....

Re: What I get for showing off!

E Brake activates a brake pad on the rear axle (not the normal brakes if I recall correctly), so it was a scorching of brake pads that you heard. Don't worry about it. If they still work fine, it's OK.

Drum brakes usually have a small and a large shoe, the small shoe is the E brake. On disc, sometimes a second hidden set of pads holds it(more inboard), or the main pads.

Re: What I get for showing off!

Ha ha..that's fun but you didn't do anything to it except knock the rust of them.... I actaully have a story too....I was on the dyno with Uprev and we locked the e brake to stop the hibs from turning because it was on hubcentric dyno. Well lets say we did two dyno runs and were like what's that smell and why are the numbers so low...yep the ebrake was still on.

Lesson learned. DO not E-Brake on dyno.
