I’m getting a hissing noise coming from my A/C vents when running the air. It happens once every couple of minutes and sounds like its coming from the far right vent. The A/C works great but I was curious if anyone else has had this issue? I found a couple of other threads with a similar issues but there wasn’t any real feedback.
The first time i heard it was after camping and that's what i thought it was. I pulled over and opened all the doors and was poking around with a stick. That was a nervous drive home.
ok guys..i had the same thing happening on my 05, and my buddy's 04. What happened is, there was a strip of that sponge-sticky back stuff that lines the cabin air filter housing that got peeled off and it blocked the air flow. My ac actually stopped blowing strong, but was still cold. Take the glove compartment off, there will be a opening to insert the filter in, trough here, look and see if any of those sponges are loose.I just stuck my fingers in there and pulled it out, as soon as i did, my ac came back to life, which was good, since i live in Hellish AZ.

My 2004 did that. Doesn't affect performance of AC.
My 2006 is whisper quiet :-)

ok rattleshake dbl hissing is not what I was referring to. You may have a leaf or something stuck in your vent, I've had that happen in some of my old cars. Or it could be the foam thing. Or a rattlesnake
