Getting Rancho 4' lift Tuesday-anything to keep in mind?

As the title states, I'm getting a Rancho 4' Lift installed on my 2wd CC next Tuesday. I bought it today. I'm VERY new to lifts and know nothing about them. I guess the Rancho does a 2.5 raise on the back and 4 in the front. I got Gooodyear Wrangler 275/65/20's put on yesterday. They're a little over 34 inches tall. They rub a little now and I have front end level on it(which they have to take off to install the lift).

Should I keep anything in mind or tell the techs anything?

Has anyone else in here installed this lift? If so, like or dislike?

' = foot, " = inch. Your post makes it sound like you are doing a 4 foot lift! lol.

The Rancho kit actually provides 5.5" of lift up front and 2.75" in the rear. Add the PRG deaver 1.25" leaf springs and it will sit near perfect!

dont take it off-roading to much. not made for it and rancho wont cover it.

Sorry Z-Hauler, at work and always on the phone, obviously not paying attention. Thanks for bringing that to my attention though, I guess we could call that your contribution to this thread...

Burly, are you using the added tire height to arrive at those measurements? The website says 2.5"(for you Z-Hauler) for the front and 4" for the back and the installer, 4 Wheel Parts Warehouse, confirms height and that it levels the truck. Please correct me if you know something I don't because like I said, I'm VERY new to lifts...

The measurements were taken before and after with stock wheels and tires.
Here is a response from PRG that explains all kits well..

"First, none of the currently avaliable kits suck. And when you are talking to a shop, ask what companies they buy direct from, the answer will most lileky be who they are pushing the most due to higher margins. I have also seen every kit botched by different shops, and the shop blames the kit and the customer believes the issues are the kits fault, but really the shop is to blame.

That being said, here is my latest opinion on the kits being made now. My opinion is that the Procomp and CST are the best bang for the buck. I was never a big fan of PC, but thier titan STAGE 1 kit is very, very nice and you get a nice fitment and easy installation for a good price (includes billet rear blocks, brake lines, rear shocks, and a slightly better sway bar connecting system than the fabtech or rancho kits). Next is CST, the nicest titan kit on the market, you pay for it too. But when its all over you will spend about the same price to add the things that come in the CST kit to any other (Hiem jointed sway bar end links, aluminum skid plate, bilstien rear shocks). The CST kit is by far the most labor intensive to install, so there may be more cost as there is cutting and welding to do (unless you get the TC upper a-arms as you will not need to weld). The Rancho kit is next. This is a very nice kit, but requires you to get thier struts just to use the basic kit, so it adds more cost. It is also a bit shorter and has a bit less potential to grow (height wise) compared to the others. but a very nice kit with nice hardware. Last is the Fabtech kit, I typically only use this kit on 2wd (we mod the subframes so there is alot of clearance and it looks great like that). It the least expensive kit but it doesnt have braided brake lines (all the others do) and it uses a very stiff add-a-leaf (i hate those). I sell all the kits but mostly CST and Procomp. Any of the kits can be made to work with a quality coilover and a good rear shock. It you were blindfolded and put in 4 different trucks, each with a different lift, with new factory shocks they would all ride and handle the same. The CST and fabtech will allow more overall height when using a different upper a-arm than the pc or rancho. And all but the fabtech use just a block in the rear (fabtech uses a 2" block and an aal).
Here's the way the stance will be with the basic kits; Rancho, 5" in front, 2" rear block, front will sit level or a tad taller than the rear (unless OR package, then about 1/2" taller in back). PC, uses a 3" block in back, will sit very close to level, OR package about 1/2-3/4" taller in back. Fabtech kit, about an 1" taller all around than pc kit, but level. OR package will sit about 1" taller in back. CST, about 1-1.5" taller in the rear due to a 4" block, about same height as FT kit in front. All these kits can be changed drastically with use of coilovers and/or upper a-arm and PROPER spacing (NOT just adding a levleing kit!!) and with different rear springs or blocks. There is also the Bulletproof kit, but its such custom kit that I will leave it out of this discussion. All this info is generalized too and jsut for the 4wd titans. 2wd is a different ball game."

THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU for that information. That was seriously good reading. It educated me and actually made me thankful I chose the Rancho due to the lower lift compared to the others. I'm weird and in the minority, I know, but I want a lift that raises the truck, but that doesn't look "lifted". Kind of a "in-between" lift if you will.

I just spent a considerable amount of money and I want to make sure it looks good.

Do you think my 275/65/20's will look good enough for the lift? They're a little over 34" tall.
