08 Gross Axle Weight rating

Just wondering what the 2008 Nissan Titan GAWR are for the new 7200 GVWR trucks. It will be on the sticker in the door jamb. Thanks.

Interesting numbers, far exceeding what the tires or rims are likely rated on the front. Fr and Rr always exceed GVWR. Nice to have some capacity though!

Re: 08 Gross Axle Weight rating

I am thinking that he meant 3699 for the front axle, right?

Re: 08 Gross Axle Weight rating

That's OK, We gotta dream sometimes! Gotta be able to hold that Diesel someday! lol.

So, it is 3699 GAWR Front and 4200 GAWR Rear. Plenty for me...

Re: 08 Gross Axle Weight rating

How did the 08 rear axle rating go up by 400# yet the differential and axle shaft remain the same as the previous models? The only change was on the axle houseing and that was in regards to the suspension system.

Re: 08 Gross Axle Weight rating

I thought the axle got a bit larger (but only from what I read; I have no direct knowledge). It did sound like they fixed a few weak links like the spring shackles. Depending on what was the previous limiting factor, you could get a higher GAWR from just bigger tires, or even higher tire pressure recommendations. Tires that aren't running at the max 44 psi get derated quite a bit, in addition to the 10% margin taken out when P-type tires are used on trucks/suvs.
