New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

I just bought my truck, I had a choice of a Tundra or this and hands down the look of the Titan beats the tundra. I love everything about this truck. i bought 04 CC 4X4 17K SE. The only problem I have is that my radio goes from mono to stereo within being in the same city(almost like it is losing signal or weak signal) does anyone else have this problem. Also when I was reading the forums, I noticed alot people talkiing about the electric brake hook up. I tow a tent trailor with electric brakes. How do I know that the truck is communicating with the trailor brakes.

Re: New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

Either the signal is low, or there is a loose connection with the antenna. I haven't heard of that problem before. As for the trailer brake system, you could back up the trailer onto some gravel or dirt and pull forward while you are applying the brake. It should drag the tires a little bit if the system is working.

Re: New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

Congrats on the truck! For you brakes, if you've got the gain set correctly you should feel them pull when you begin braking. If you can't feel them, increase the gain until you can. The back off maybe just a tick. It depends on how you like to have them set. I have mine set so that I can always feel them under light braking, but I'm towing quite a bit heavier than a pop up.

Carbeaux, how are you setting "gain?" Is this a pedal height adjustment? Do you have some instructions on how to make that adjustment?

Re: New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

Some electric brake systems have a knob or buttons on it which you can turn to set the braking force and / or braking reaction.

Re: New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

Nice choice of the Titan over the Tundra! Like Redneckpapa, I also use CD's and my nano most of the time and haven't noticed any defficiencies in the radio.

Re: New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

need a brake controller with digital display to know the brake power. I have the prodigy and it was easy to install and works great.

Re: New Titan-I LOVE THIS TRUCK

What I mean by "gain" is this: It's the "power" knob on the left of my Prodigy. It was called gain on my old one. It's what adjusts the power to the trailer brakes under braking. I like to have this set so that the trailer "leads" my truck a bit under braking, meaning I can feel the trailer brakes pulling a bit when I'm braking. That's the way I'm most comfortable.
