'08 Exterior Paint

Has the paint job on the '08 Titans been improved?

My '04 scratches and chips just looking at it.

Could be bad prep/contaminants somehow.

I've got the standard set of chips on my '04 as well.

Paint protection film, high wax, prayers, bug deflector, help keep it to a minimum...

Re: '08 Exterior Paint

I have the white 04 and the paint has never been an issue. Probably because it shows very little in the way of scratches etc. Sorry I can't speak about the 08s.

Re: '08 Exterior Paint

I can't tell much of a difference in the '05 paint and the '08 paint. I had the Simoniz 5 system put on both. I never had any problems with the '05 paint, and it took quite a bit of abuse from the snow plows and sanding trucks.

I was wondering this too. its unreal that we pay 30k for a truck and the paint is crap.

my dad has a ford same year as mine 06 and he takes that to the dirt, towes his boat and its his work truck and not one scratch... yet the paint of my truck chips as soon as there is a breeze.

Re: '08 Exterior Paint

Sorry, but I have never seen anyone PRAISE the factory paint job on a car or truck. Can't say I blame everyone for complaining, I surely will too when my truck has aged a bit, but c'mon...I doubt there are any vehicles out there that actually have thick/strong factory paint

Every vehicle I have owned, up until this Titan had a great thick/strong factory paint.

The paint on my '95 Honda Civic and '03 Camry that I also own right now, are in better shape than my Titan.

I have been thinking about an '08 Titan in Silver which is why i ask.

Re: '08 Exterior Paint

Ahh..i stand corrected. I've never had a vehicle long enough to be able to see longevity over time...I just hear (see) people complain on the forums with the last few cars I've had, but maybe some brands do have better paint?

Re: '08 Exterior Paint

On average I own my cars for about 7-8 years. So yeah. This paint job on my '04 Titan sucks.

Re: '08 Exterior Paint

My truck has no paint. It has black powder stuck with goo glue on it...

touch it and it scratches. And it's black.. so you see it. I hand wash and detail every time to minimize swirls. One run through the carwash and there wo'nt be much left to wash........
