BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

probably been asked a million times and im sure theres countless threads, but i want some fresh input. who has these tires and what do they like or dont like about them. im getting some skins put on next week, and im torn between these two tires. i have a set of the bfgs on my other pickup with over 80k miles on them, so im aware the bfgs wear pretty good. on the other hand, it seemed like they hardened up after a few years and are not worth a damn in the snow anymore. i do think the bfgs look cool, and i have not seen the revos mounted up yet, so if someone has some pics, cool. i was quoted 836 otd for the revos and 871 for the bfgs after a $50 rebate. so not much of a difference in price like i originally thought. whaddya think?

Re: BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

I know the Revo's don't come in the biggers sizes perferred by many guys here, but I've never heard a bad word about them.
The BFG's are a true all terrain tire, the Revo's seem more like a good all weather truck tire.
IMHO...

I love mine in the rain, awesome !!!!!

Got a bad tire that can`t be balanced which sucks !!!!!!

Tire balancing machine says 00 when balancing it but it bounces when driving...

Had the front end checked and it is fine...

Bridgestone says that is all they can do.....BULLSH IT !!!!!!!!!

2- sets of BFG rugged trails and they road smooth as glass but only lasted 25-28,000 miles.....TOO soft of a tire, i think......AND way too expensive !!!!

Re: BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

The REVO's are great tires. Probably the best in the AT class especially if you spend most of your time on road. I had a set on my Pathfinder and did 60K on them before replacing. I went with 315/70 R17 Mastercrafts on the Titan but if they made the REVO's in that size I would have definetly gone with them.

Get the REVOs!!!!!!!!!!!1 What an amazing tire compared to the crappy BFGs. You won't be sorry, I promise. All that hydroplaning and tire spinning in the wet?...gone!

Re: BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

I have Revos on my 4wd SE KC. I've only had them for a week now, but they seem outstanding so far. I'm very confident in the rain with them and I'm sure they're equally impressive in the snow and for light offroad use. I give feedback on the latter in the coming months.

yea, im not talking about replacing them with the oem ragged trails, im talking about the bfg all terrain k/o's. the rugged trails are crap for sure, i dont understand why they even make such a tire!

The KOs are overkill for our trucks (I think they were an 8 ply) and are louder. But yes....anything will be better than the ruggeds.

Re: BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

My BFG Rugged Trails only lasted 23K miles, but now I run the BFG AT KO in a LT285/70/17 and have 33K miles on them, and should get 45K miles. I drive on very twisty country roads, and they handle great. The stiffer side wall of an light truck tire doesn't tend to roll under as much on the curves. And if you drive on poor roads, they can take hitting potholes etc. without issues. The newer KOs are much quieter than older versions of the BFG AT. They have the severe weather rating, (in some states this will exempt you from chain controls), in the OWL version of the LT285/70/17, but not the blackwall in this size as it is a Chrysler OEM spec. tire.

For straight roads that are in good shape the Revo's are probably fine, but I prefer a light truck tire. I off road on big river rocks too, so no P-rated tires for me.

Here's a link to a post of another member, (goathead), that shows a good pic of the Revo ... http://www.titantalk.com/forums/832901-post12.html

And click on my sig pic to see better shots of my AT KO. Best tire shots are the ones titled "Donahoe Racing", and "PRG 4" Performance Pkg. at Pismo. front passenger side." Click on them two times for full zoom in.

Re: BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

I got the Revos because it was the best tire for the driving I do.

If you go with the Revos, look for a better price. I got them for $760 OTD.

wow thats a good price on the tires, so far the places around here cant come close to that.

awesome truck NorCal 4x4, i really like the looks of the sidewall on the bfg better, so im leaning towards the bfg as of now. i would like to hear some people that have tried the revos in the snow though, i have a feeling that they would do a little better in the snow than the goodrich. im thinking of having the bfgs siped a bit if i get em. thanks for the posts guys!

Re: BFG A/T or Bridgestone Revos? whaddya think?

The Bridgestone Revo's by far, but then I am biased, since I have used them on my second truck, '93 Ranger, for the last 100,000+ miles. On the Ranger they were good for 70,000+ miles. Being basically the cheap one wheel drive vehicle, I put 150 pounds of cat litter in the backof the bed, and it has never been stuck in the snow. They have absolutely awesome grip when the road is wet.

I had the original Goodrich junk tires on, and drove from Cleveland to eastern Iowa on February 13, 2007 in the blizzard that covered the north central part of the country, and they were absolutely worthless. When I got back home, I had the local dealer order in the Tevo's, and haven't looked back since.

Don't judge the BFG AT KO LT tires by the OEM spec BFG passenger rated Rugged Trails. Two very different animals.
